Yikes! That has to suck (I'm a couple of months into abdominal surgery recovery myself, so I sympathize)! Hope you're feeling better.PapersAndPaychecks wrote:I'm easily confused at the moment because I'm recovering from having my skull reshaped by a surgeon, so ignore me if I'm talking utter nonsense.

I love you guys... in a strictly platonic way of course.DungeonDork wrote:<posts picture of Mr. Eastwood chewing a cowboy-killer>

Gamers young and old - from LBB toting grognards to virtual table pilots - coming together, arms open, singing praises for our hobby. We would be a united force, a vanguard for RPGs in general and Dungeons and Dragons in particular. Defenders of a once-dying hobby, heralds of a New Era of Gaming! It would be glorious. And it could all start right here.oldgamergeek wrote:I like the retro clones they allow new players to try old style play for little or no money. (many can be downloaded free) I also play OD&D, AD&D, all Traveller including Mongoose and the dreaded 4th editionsure there are new games that are good, even the latest D&D has a following
what we need to remember is this is not Original vs retro clone vs modern. I game to have fun if a game is not or group is not fun I will do something else. Remember we are all GAMERS now lets slay some Orcs.
Heady stuff.

Re: The RetroClone Bandwagon: I'm off of it.
I'm using the original AD&D books for my game, but when something really doesn't make any sense to me in them, then I turn to OSRIC and there is good chance I find the answer, if that doesn't work, then I go to some AD&D forum like K&K, or Dragonsfoot and use the search function...
In Hungary, where there were never AD&D first edition, people are going old school using melan's Kard és Mágia rpg. Which is not a retro clone, but still relevant.
