Night Rider was in the pine box, "remember him when you look at the night sky".
Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
I seem to be the only one, but I thought Fury Road sucked.
Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
Yeah ScottyG, you are pretty much the only one I've heard say that. Curious, what current movie did you enjoy?

The week before I saw Age of Ultro and I enjoyed that.

I haven't seen that movie so I can't comment on it. Not much of a comic book/superhero guy myself, but I may see it with my kid on video later.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
I'm hoping to check out Poltergeist this weekend.
Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
Went to go see it with Doug (NTRPG Con Doug) the other day and he said he liked Mad Max and The Road Warrior better. I thought he was nuts. I think it was the best Mad Max movie by far, two solid hours of rocket-shot adrenaline explosions. I'll be seeing it on the big screen again.ScottyG wrote:I seem to be the only one, but I thought Fury Road sucked.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
I watched the first 2 MM movies last weekend. I don't think the first one holds up all that well. I know it's low budget and all that and I appreciate some elements of it but man some of the romantic scenes are cheesy as hell and the baddies doing crazy shit for no reason gets old quick...
But TRW is still pure awesome....
I'm planning on picking up the classic Car Wars box set soon from Amazon. GOnna play it with my boys

Someone needs to bring Car Wars to the convention. I haven't played it but it sounds amazing. I've got Thursday morning free.zevious zoquis wrote:I watched the first 2 MM movies last weekend. Car Wars is awesome. And easily scale-able to use Matchbox cars instead of counters.CountingWizard wrote:

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
My wife and I sat down to watch the original Mad Max, last night. Only got through the first half hour, till the bad guys started raping everyone. Then we switched over to Bob’s Burgers.

The common version of the original Mad Max is a completely re-dubbed American English version.
It's still a low budgen, late 70's B movie, but the original Australian dub holds up somewhat better than the American dub.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
Having re-watched the Road Warrior recently (as I noted earlier) there's a couple aspects of the movie I noticed that I hadn't in the past. Basically, I was struck by how unsuccessful Mad Max actually is in the film, lol. I mean he fails in his first attempt to drive away from the fort town in his interceptor. Then, he ends up failing to get the truck to it's destination. In the end it didn't matter of course, but still...

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
And thats what we love about Max. He has no control of his own destiny, finds himself being shit on constantly, but somehow manages to survive every movie. Is it a wonder why Max is the way he is by Fury Road?zevious zoquis wrote:Having re-watched the Road Warrior recently (as I noted earlier) there's a couple aspects of the movie I noticed that I hadn't in the past. Re: Mad Max: Fury Road
Mrs. Chainsaw and I just finished watching the 2D version. We both thought it was pretty good, but nothing earth-shatteringly awesome that we need to see again immediately or anything. As with just about any movie, there were a few things I would have done differently or omitted. Overall, I'd say it's a solid action flick and worthy addition to the franchise.
