I emailed Lulu, but I suspect it is too late to cancel at this point. If Black Blade is the preferred version, maybe someone should change the link to Lulu on the splash page of knights-n-knaves.com.

Well, the Lulu version can always be given to a friend as a present. The Black Blade version has additional art and (at the time) up to date errata, but maybe the Lulu version now has that honour.

Stuart will have to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Lulu and BBP are both current errata-wise.

Jimm: Black Blade's is a nicer book (it's printed on better quality paper, has better binding, etc.), and it has an index, and additional art not in the Lulu version. And it's nearly the same price ($26 for BBP vs. Lulu $25.20 or somesuch).

It's just the A5 versions on Lulu that have the errata AFAIK.

The A5 perfect bound is my ideal format anyway so I reckon it's worth considering.

I am assuming DM duties, since no one else appears to be volunteering for this first session of the official K&KA/OSRIC game. If someone else wants to run this session, please speak up now.

There has been some interest previously of having "kids" (10 and over) included in the game. My feeling on this is that if it looks like 6 or more adults are planning to attend, then no kids. If attendance seems like it will be less than 6 adults, then bring on the kids. In all honesty, I'd rather run an adult game for this, but if we're short on players I'm totally fine with some talented younger folk.

PLEASE: Roll up characters ahead of time. In fact, roll up 2 or 3. I'm coming into this straight off of 4 (or more) years of no nonsense OD&D, so there will be fatalities. (Just warning you.) Roll using the 4d6 drop lowest die method, arrange to taste, but please *no shifting points from one stat to another.*

For character races/classes anything in OSRIC or the PHB is game (I'll even allow monks, but you better know how they work, cause if you don't I'll make a ruling on the spot and you will live-- or die-- with it. This goes for spells/spell casters too. Know your spell or have the book open to the correct entry. I'm not wasting time looking up spell minutia; I'll just rattle off your casting time, etc. if you don't know it!).

This sounds great....if I can make it, I will, but it would be last minute....cannot plan it, being so close to NTRPGCON.

BTW, on the way back from Houston a couple weeks ago, we passed through Buffalo City...the Hampton Inn would have been perfect if they didn't charge $150 a day for their meeting room....it's right off 45, with about a dozen fast food restaurants right there in front. I could not for the life of me figure out why they valued their meeting space so highly, there is nothing of consequence within an hours drive either way, too bad. Hearne is a good spot though and even closer, hope to make one of these get-togethers.
