That'll go over well. I'm sure of it.
The DUNGEON MASTERS GUIDE City of Brass cover is good and bad at the same time. While its very representational of a high level adventure, it sends a clear message to the dumb: Satan is going to cornhole Miss USA with a big red member and theres nothing science or the military can do about it. - Gene Weigel

Thankfully I have no knowledge of Star Wars outside of main six films, so it's totally irrelevant to me. Wait, actually, I remember reading Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire in high school and liking it, but I couldn't tell you the first thing about it now, 18 years later.

If "expanded universe" includes everything after Empire Strikes Back, I'm all for it. If it were up to me I'd throw out everything and make the old Marvel comics series the official canon.

It would be cool to look at those old SW comics. Does anyone know of a good place to get them? Have they been collected together and reprinted in "omnibus editions"?

Darkhorse comics has compiled them in various collected editions. You should be able to find some at Barnes & Noble or your local comic store.

Maybe they can tear a page from the TSR/WotC playbook and blow up the universe and reassemble it into something similar, but different enough to piss half the fanbase off?

They should take a leaf out of the Bandai play book regarding Gundam where they have half a dozen different time lines or "universes", each one reworking the same themes, sometimes with completely different protagonists. The most recent, Gundam Age, was a freakin' masterpiece in that regard.

What are the odds that a post about multiple time lines and parallel universes would get double posted?

I'd never even heard of the Expanded Universe until this thread. So, unless Disney makes significant changes to episodes IV, V and VI (other than what George already has), I won't notice a thing.

Never heard of the kid. Can't be any worse than that little boy who played Annakin in Phantom Dennis the Menace. :P
