Ditto, and same with Barnes & Noble. However, while at B&N I helped a dad who was trying to find an intro set for D&D, and the clerk there wasn't much help, so I told him about the AD&D reprints coming out next week, and pointed him to Hero Complex Games and Entertainment (our FLGS in Wichita), and pimped OSRIC. Sounds like he's interested in OSRIC, given the price differential :D
Yeah....double take....these are going to be for sale at B&N nationally? IF thats true....our ship may have just come in. Its also sounding like the first run is going to sell out. If that happens and a larger run is ordered and the same thing happens...who knows right? :D :D :D

I'm actually hoping this makes the bottom drop out of the market on the originals. I could use a couple more non-orange spined PHBs and at least 1 more DMG. But I ain't paying going ebay rates, at least not what they've been over the last few months......

Hahaha, the Acaeum's dream come true!

Incidentally, I tried to get my local guy to sell me the reprints today, but he wouldn't budge...

Yeah, looks like I misread the items no longer being described as "North American hobby channel exclusive" and drew incorrect conclusions (i.e. that the books would be available via B&N and Amazon) -- they're not currently showing up at all on B&N's website, and while there is a listing on Amazon, it looks like it's from a third-party distributor reselling books, not directly from WotC. Which takes some of the shine off - if you have to go into a game-store to buy these no one is going to see them (including me - I can't remember the last time I've been inside a game-store; at least 2-3 years). I suppose there's still a chance that if these do well enough via game-stores that WotC will do another printing with wider distribution, but it doesn't seem too likely. I'd still like to get these, but I'm not sure I want them enough to have to deal with going to a game-store (and paying game-store prices) for them :|

And just like that, AD&Ders don't play an out-of-print game anymore.
