Re: What you doing this weekend?
Two (two!) family reunions this weekend. They were not coordinated but fortunately one is Saturday and one Sunday, and they’re only 100 miles apart.
Re: What you doing this weekend?
On Sunday, driving to Winston-Salem NC, followed by a quick drive to Oak Island on Monday, to spend most of the week on the beach.
If you don't hear from my by July 30th, I either got eaten by a shark, or I found the treasure.

Re: What you doing this weekend?
Hosting another session of the kids' game. They might finish the Adventurer's Guild Graduation Dungeon this session...then we'll have to figure out where they're are going. But, although they don't realize it, one of the treasures they've found is a map.

Today was my eldest daughter's 19th birthday. We went to see Incredibles 2 and out to dinner (sushi), and did the cake/ice cream/presents thing. She also wants to go to the Houston Museum of Natural Science, but we're going to do that on a weekday.
Re: What you doing this weekend?
Binge watching Big Bang Theory with my son. Neither of us had watched the series and we are really enjoying it.

Yesterday(saturday), I worked from 6am to 6pm counting in the commute of about a half hour each way. Blargh. Today, I map my megadungeon, clean the house, and stay indoors to avoid the burning glare of the sun.
My blog all about my tabletop game:

Played about half-way through a Twilight Imperium game this evening. We'll try to finish it up tomorrow.

How was the trip? We visited Sapphire Valley inland in NC when I was a kid, and had a great time, but I've always thought it would be cool to do a trip where we could visit both Oak Island and Roanoke Island---unfortunately since they're 4 1/2 hours apart, that's probably not happening unless we visited by boat one dayfrancisca wrote:On Sunday, driving to Winston-Salem NC, followed by a quick drive to Oak Island on Monday, to spend most of the week on the beach.

We spent much of this weekend playing D&D in Henry's Underground Mansion dungeon. We levelled up from a big haul last session, and are now:
- Victoria - human female Cleric 4 - Heather
- Pachin - human MU 3 - Henry
- Rragas - half-orc fighter 3 - Ethan
- Vortigern Erasmus Khalak IV - dwarf fighter/thief 2/3 - me
Otherwise the usual mix of squeezing in family end-of-summer fun before school starts on the 15th.
Allan.

Sounds like fun! Baltimore's a neat city if you get a chance to dig around in the historical sites.capitalbill wrote:On a "work trip".

Re: What you doing this weekend?
I got worn out this weekend.
We went to St. Louis for my boy's birthday.
Went to City Museum. If there ever was a place that could give you an unbelievable amount of ideas for a campaign ( or several, spanning just about any game I've ran or plan to run), that place is it. Definitely need to bring some knee pads (and get the fuck in better shape) for that place.
Also, went to the zoo. As always, a good zoo has way more than can be done in a day (or half a day).
Went to the Arch of course but didn't plan well enough to get to go up inside it.
On the way there and back we listened to Gaiman read his Startdust. Solid book/story. Really makes the movie look like utter crap by comparison. I tried to watch it again last night but lost steam (I kinda liked it when it came out, but it wasn't any great shakes for what it is).

Yeah, it's a good one. We played it again, this weekend. I had an awesome couple "come from behind" turns, but one of my sons managed get enough victory points to win before I could realize my final plans. (Didn't help that he managed to wrangle support for the throne from multiple players.)Welleran wrote:I love that game!Philotomy Jurament wrote:Played about half-way through a Twilight Imperium game this evening. Re: What you doing this weekend?
Didn't do much this weekend. Well, I replaced my computer's traditional hard drive with a SSD, but I don't know if that counts. (It feels way faster, so I'm happy.)
I think the family is doing pizza and a board game tonight, though, so looking forward to that.

Re: What you doing this weekend?
So, the ghost attacked Hiccup and the Dragonriders at their base (the Haunted House), paralyzing Astrid and Snotlout, but Hiccup lured him back to the shipwreck near Fireball Island with the promise of magical blue crystals. When Hiccup returned, he used the Heart of Vulkar to heal Astrid and Snotlout, but three zombies showed up looking for brains, so he led them to the bell tower where he kept all the extra dragon brains. Suddenly, an extra Hiccup turned out to be an evil robot, but luckily the alien flying the Millenium Falcon showed up to capture the robot. At the same time, a fish monster swam up and Hiccup had to slay him with his flame sword. Then, as the alien was blasting off with the evil robot Hiccup, Goldar and Lord Zed swooped in to attack. Hiccup rallied his Whispering Death and other dragons to fight them off, then everyone went to bed. Long day!
