I joined several Mythrus tower games. I like the idea of trying to have an ongoing expedition.

I'm too scared to join Tim Kask's game.

I was simultaneously happy and disappointed to see that Philotomy and Northrundicandus' games were full already.

I tried to leave some free time for schmoozing and boozing.

Tim's games are fun: if there's room, you should jump in with two feet. Worst that'll happen is a TPK :D :D

I dare you to join Tim's game and tell him "initiative doesn't work like that."

I'd definitely consider myself a noob in his game.

Heh heh .. I bet the quickest way to encounter a Die No Save trap in Kask's game is to say, " .. but, page 67 of the DMG says ..."

In his OD&D game last year (at least the one I played in), he was using individual initiative with a d10, where low rolls are good. Then he'd count off the numbers and you'd chime in when he got to your number.

That's actually how I run my S&W game as well.

It seems to work well with a large group.

I've not had any issues with it. Ties are simultaneous.

How were ties between sides resolved?

I don't remember. Maybe grodog does, he was in the same game.
