And he's a human prize machine. You should have seen all the stuff he won in the raffle. It was obscene.....

Ditto this. Plus it looks like all three of us (me, Cimm, wheggi) are going to be at the table together in Rob Kuntz's Saturday night game. I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and predict that session ends in a TPK  8)

And I'll take it one step further and predict that we'll be dying at each other's hands.

Well Mike, the last time Trent, Cim and I gamed together, this is what happened:

Bedivere at DF wrote:Cim learns he's facing Orcus. How many times does a DM get to show the players that picture? (Notice Trent is prudently covering the stat. block so that Cim doesn't get any information that might help him defeat Orcus.)
And the game before that my character changed alignments and was luring wights towards the party. So odds are pretty good that Death is gonna have a busy day with us . . .

Well double-ditto to all of this. We'll have to show them the western style of game consisting of humor, disregard for party members in the face of death or treasure, & above all how a PHB can be used to represent a fulcrum & lever model. All is fair game!  We'll be fine in the 'Duke of Death!' (Thank you Robin Williams)

Anyways, glad to see you both going!

I'm bringing a few '60s, '70s and early '80s board games, ones that are quick to learn and only take 1 to 6 hours to play. If you have a favorite from the list, then speak up.

Ironclads (Yaquinto)
Wooden Ships & Iron Men (AH)
Luftwaffe (AH)
Kriegspiel (AH)
France 1940 (AH)
Battle of the Bulge (AH)
Midway (AH)
D-Day (AH)
Civilization (AH, not advanced)
Diplomacy (AH)
Feudal (3M)
Riddle of the Ring (ICE)
Arkham Horror (Chaosium)
Wizards(AH)
Wizard's Quest (AH)
Talisman (FFG, 4th ed: really 2nd ed knockoff)
The Fury of Dracula (GW, a fave of mine)
Cosmic Encounters ( Eon, another fave of mine)
Star Fleet Battles (TFG, designer ed)

Since I'm flying in, I can probaby only bring up to 6 games.

Be assured that Diplomacy and Civilization are definitely making the trip.

Now, what's this foolishness I hear about the con being in a dry county? What exactly does that mean when it comes to dining out or hanging out in a hotel room?

Forgive me. I know little of such barbaric laws.

Just means you'll have to pick up your sauce in another county, that's all.

You mean it's completely dry, as in, no alcohol .. ever? Does that go for just purchasing, or does it extend to consumption as well?

How do people live like that?

You can't buy it anywhere, no liquor stores, no bars, no restaurants.
You can still consume in private.

Unless it's changed since I was in that area, you can buy everywhere but in stores. In bars and in restaurants is fine, but no liqueur stores, no groceries, and no quick stores.

That means there's a possibility that I might have to shake chgowiz' hand while stone-cold sober.

Yeah, depends on the county. Some allow restaurants, some don't.
