hmmm...
It looks like there is a substantial difference in content between the LE and the SE; e.g., Rob's design notes and historical commentary. Is that true?
If so, are there any plans to make the additional LE content available in the future? I.e., a CD release?
I applaud the sentiment of limiting orders to 2/person.
Thanks,
GW-

As far as I know, the basic contents are the same. The differences will be in the overall presentation, the notes from the author, and commentaries from the author about certain areas (i.e. - so & so died here from xyz).
So, everyone should get the same basic information - same number of rooms, contents in the room, etc. Everything will be there to run as an adventure! Just without all the bells and whistles.

I hope you are right. If so, then they need to work on their product description:
Maybe grodog can clear this up?
Thanks,

Emphasis mine. Compare to...Pied Piper Publishing Site wrote: The Limited Edition of Bottle City features a high-quality, single-sheet 22" x 34" color reproduction of the original fan-fold city map; color reproductions of the manuscript pages; a typed transcription of the original manuscript pages; historical commentary; designer notes; cover art sheet illustrated by Eric Bergeron; and a special introduction from Allan Grohe, series editor for The Lake Geneva Castle & Campaign™ products. This special edition of Bottle City is enclosed within a cardstock folder with title window, printed on 24 pound paper, and shipped in a protective plastic sleeve.
No mention of the historical commentary and design notes. I think this is a critical piece of this product, and omitting it from the standard edition would completely suck.Pied Piper Publishing Site wrote: The Standard Edition of Bottle City features two quality 11" x 17" color sheet reproductions of the original fan-fold city map; a typed transcription of the manuscript pages; a special introduction from Allan Grohe, series editor for The Lake Geneva Castle & Campaign™ products; and cover art sheet illustrated by Eric Bergeron, all enclosed within a ziplock bag.

As far as I know the design notes and historical commentary will not be in the Standard Edition. I don't know whether they might be released at some later point in time, I suspect that would depend on the market for them.
Design notes and historical commentary aren't "basic" to the adventure.

This product isn't just an "adventure" product. Omitting this information from the affordable version is either a smack in the face of gamers that are fans but not collectors or a shrewd business decision. Depends on your point of view I guess.dcs wrote: Design notes and historical commentary aren't "basic" to the adventure.
I think collectors would fork over the $$ for the limited edition regardless. Why penalize the rest of the community?

So, for twenty bucks, I get the full adventure, right? I do, however, miss out on the designer notes and historical data (who died where and how). Also, the standard won't look as "pretty" as the LE, correct?dcs wrote:That's my fault.![]()
The Standard Edition is $20 plus S&H, you can check the updated page for details.

Yes, for $20 you get the full adventure, but without the designer notes and historical commentary, plus the map won't be as nice. I think that's the long and short of it.TheRedPriest wrote:So, for twenty bucks, I get the full adventure, right? Plus you'll have to wait longer as it doesn't go on sale until after the LE is gone or the pre-order period for the LE is over, whichever comes first.

It's a shame that the version with the designer notes is that much more expensive - that's out of my price range and right in the "this is the credit card entry that led to my divorce" category.
It will be cool to see it just as an adventure, but I wish the collectors' edition had been differentiated with something other than the historical material. That would have added a lot to the adventure.
