Knights & Knaves Alehouse

Went to go see it again today with a friend, and this time it was the 3D version. I'm meh on the 3D, but overall I enjoyed it more the 2nd time around than the 1st.

One of two things that really stood out for me the 2nd time around was just how good the first fight scene is right after the sand storm. It's so well choreographed and executed that, if there's a technical Oscar for fight scenes, then Fury Road should have a lock on it.

The 2nd thing that stood out for me was how much Tom Hardy reminded me of Steve McQueen. If this movie had been made 40+ years ago, Steve McQueen would have been a great Max.

Hmm, according to Youtube, Fury Road is "Nazi Propaganda", "Feminist Propaganda".

I have a great tolerance for idiots on the internet (being one of them, myself)... but eventually, I just push it to 101 MPH and run them over on the Internet Highway (while listening to Screaming for Vengeance, by Judas Priest).

In the meantime... guys, watch out for Nazis and Feminists.

Finally saw it - I've seen a bunch of action movies lately and this was so much better that it's hard to express. Face meltingly awesome!

Part of why Fury Road is one of my favorite films is that it does a lot of practical effects which is enhanced by CGI work.

This video is pre-production and other shots without any CGI.

The folks don't the pole cat work (swinging on long poles with engine blocks as counter-balances) are amazingly nuts.
