Re: So Texas... 2
I had Ama's reschedule us for Saturday, August 23.
How will that date work for people?

Tentatively, that should work for me.
Thanks!

So...with NTRPG Con barely behind us, shall we begin planning our next Alehouse get-together?

Aug 23 is open, for me.

I'm a good, firm, "probably" to attend.

Re: So Texas... 2
Hi Guys,
I'm wondering if people still want to do this. Ama's Restaurant in Hearne still has us penciled in for Sat., August 23 (as far as I know). My wife kids are going to be away during this time, so I can make it for sure.
Waddaya say?

I was just thinking about this the other day and wondering if we're still on.
Lemme check my calendar and make sure work/family haven't eaten that weekend. I'll post an update later with whether I can make it or not.

I think I can manage. We are moving apartments the next weekend but I think a little downtime before that wouldn't hurt.
Would there be room at the table for my girlfriend if she wants to play?

Doesn't look like I can make it. Family plans that I can't move. Y'all have fun.
Keep me in the loop on the next one. November?

Shouldn't be a problem.DungeonDork wrote:Would there be room at the table for my girlfriend if she wants to play?
Yeah, November would be next on the schedule. But let's see if we can pull this one off first.Flambeaux wrote:Y'all have fun. Keep me in the loop on the next one. November?

Re: So Texas... 2
Turns out I'm going to have family visiting that weekend, so it's a no-go, for me.
Re: So Texas... 2
I didn't want to start a new thread just for this, since there was already one about gaming in Texas, so....
Just to let everyone know, we have started having NTRPG Mini-mini cons at the new NTRPG con warehouse. Just small weekend get-togethers to game and hang out. We had one last month with about 15 people, and have another planned next weekend with 5-7 already committed to attend. The new NTRPG con warehouse has three connected offices with a bathroom and air conditioning, and a large garage area (presently uninhabitable due to temperatures in the 100's). Needless to say we have confined gaming to the office areas for now. Last month we had two D&D games (I ran a version of Jaquays' The Lost Temple that I'm thinking of running as a con game, while Doug ran some lame new-age story-telling exercise...
) Plans are to get together every few months for games and fun, it might be a better or easier option for those of us in the DFW area. If you don't have social media ties like Facebook it's easy to not be aware of the get-togethers, and since the forums of the NTRPG con site are STILL down, no where to announce it there, but since this thread is about gaming in Texas I thought it would be appropriate to announce the date here. This time, Doug may run a D&D game, but we are definitely doing a chariot race and gladiator battles to try out some new rules. Everyone from Texas or beyond is welcome. Zach Glazer is flying in from Arizona as a special guest (just kidding, he's just flying in as a dude wanting to defend his chariot racing crown...)
The problem is both "events" so far have just sprung up at this point with very little planning. Jimm (or anyone else) if you wanted to plan a specific date at the warehouse let us know and we can plan far ahead to try to make it happen. Obviously the location is not central to all Texas gamers, but it is a place with AC, three giant gaming tables, a bathroom, a fridge, and guaranteed old school gaming. Just throwing it out there.....!

Re: So Texas... 2
Hey guys,
I like your suggestion Mike. I was trying to find a place that was under 2 hrs drive for anyone coming from Austin, Houston, Dallas, or similar, but it looks like it might just be too hard to coordinate a date that enough people can commit to.
I want to give it one last try, however. So I'm putting out a last call for the Aug. 23 session in Hearne, TX. If we can get a minimum of 6 player to commit by this Saturday, I'll still run it. Otherwise, I'll call Ama's and cancel. In the mean time I'll hang out a small carrot. This is the partially completed map I'm working on for the players "home base."
