Another thing I've noticed is that the leading men all look like kids, or at least very young. This differs from say the 50s when even relatively young actors looked mature (rather then punky, cute, cheeky etc.). This maturity made them believable relatable and relaven (think present day Brad Pitt vs. say Brando at the same age). The depth of character and maturity does not exist in the actors of our day for the most part.

Perhaps this is the fault of chicks who prefer weenie men to "normal".

They are out there but don't stand a chance of achiving "greatness" in todays Hollywood "rable." Michael Chiklis is one hell of an actor, and reminds be of the days when men were actors and women were actresses, when Dirty Harry was a "real man." But the folks making these crappy movies today don't want that.

Other than Viggo Mortensen, (perhaps the next Harrison Ford ) I can't think of any other manly-men in hollywood today.

Have you ever noticed how unlikable (on a personal level) todays stars are compared to those of the past. Even those that shared opposing politcal views from me I greatly liked and admired. Todays stars seem at best boring and worst complete a$$holes (with only a few exceptions). I mean imagine having to sit and have dinner with Ben Afleck, Tom Cruise, or Brad Pitt. Painful to think of isn't it?

Godentag mentioned Ralph Fiennes in another thread. He's under 50, and I think a good actor depending on the role he's playing. For instance, he was excellent in Schindler's List, as well as in Red Dragon. I didn't care for The English Patient, but that got alot of aclaim as well. Not sure if he's Mr. Macho, but I'd say he's talented.
