Woo hoo! I just noticed my F'Chelrak's Tomb OD&D game is on the schedule for Friday night. This will be my first attempt at running a game for a CON. If it goes well, I hope to do more in the future.

Jimm - you are still doing your Thursday night marathon, right? Where you and The Angry Wizard rotate guys though Skull Mountain all night?
Davy Brown, Davy Brown
Where ya gonna be when the hammer comes down?
Can you outshoot the Devil? Outrun his hounds?
Ain't nothing to it but to stay above ground.

We confirmed this weekend that Michael Curtis (Stonehell Dungeon, The Dungeon Alphabet) will be at NTRPG con this year! Michael will be running sessions of Goodman Games' new DCC RPG, and will help us award the 2nd annual Three Castle Award (Michael was the winner of the first annual award for his excellent book The Dungeon Alphabet). Yet another reason to attend the premier old school rpg convention in the south this summer!

A correction, scheduled special guest Jack Herman (Villains & Vigilantes) will not be able to make the con this year.

I got my Aliens and Castle Greyhawk events submitted to Doug today, so they'll be showing up in the 'grid soon.

Also: Doug said that my Aliens games will be in a different room, 5 floors below the K&K Social ballroom. I can relocate the games up there, if you guys would like to play The Reactor Room, Operations, and Rescue Newt scenarios back to back, or we play down below and take breaks to ride the elevator for more beer.

Thoughts?

Something Doug and I knew was a possibility for a few weeks now...

Rob Kuntz has officially decided he won't be able to attend NTRPG con 2012. He attended our first three cons so this is really tough not being able to see and talk to him this year.

As you may know, the Three Castles Award was thought up by Rob and Doug, and as it would happen Michael Curtis (last year's winner) was able to make it to this year's con, I'm only sorry he can Rob didn't get to meet. Hopefully at a future con!

I'll miss having Rob around this year, he is a very funny storyteller and has some great tales of the old days. We hope he will be able to attend next year.

BTW, I never posted the update. Doug and I placed Allan's Aliens game in a place of honor, it will be smack dab in front of you when you walk through the
Ballroom door in front of the registration table, art display area and silent auction items. If Allan wants to drag it upstairs to the hospitality suite he is welcome, but with those drunken K&K hobos up there who knows what will happen? :D

On the other hand, if Allan DOESN'T drag it up to the hospitality suite, the drunken K&KA hobos might follow Allan down to play Aliens smack dab in front of the registration table...

I was able to make the 2010 one by explaining that it was my last chance before I knocked her up. Now the result of said knocking up is now 5 months old and conventions in Texas are on hold for a few years, unfortunately.

Though I had a wicked fun time and can't wait to come back and drink through every game again.
