No, but I did use some chalk to creatively (and quite obscenely) deface his statue.tacojohn4547 wrote:Oh yeah, some friends ya had there. At least they couldn't loot the bodies...

Still searching for that walking treasure chest...
Re: North Texas RPG Convention 2012: June 7-10
I'll ask Marshall. He had difficulty registering here a while back and mainly hangs out at the Acaeum and DF. He's in one of my offline groups and we may also get together this summer for some wargaming.Matthew wrote:Looks great. Is there a Chain Mail scenario report forthcoming?

By the way, I posted my reactions to most of the con (the games I played) on my blog: http://www.ianwheat.net/2012/06/ntrpgco ... sorts.html
In case anyone wants to see what I was up to all weekend.

I'm in MN, away from my home computer, so I haven't been able to post my pics yet. But here's one for now.
This is the Starship Warden's Sky Marshall (a.k.a Jim Ward - right) passing secret intelligence to the Sarge (Erol Otus - left) in a free-for-all mini-session of Metamorphosis Alpha. The "L.T." (i.e. lieutenant, played by Flambeaux) is grumbling to himself just out of frame.

Here's one more, while I have time.
This is Chainsaw preparing to die in Mythmere's Mythrus Tower.

Grumbling was right. MA was never a game that interested me. After this experience, I don't see any reason to change that opinion. I enjoyed the other two sessions we got to play together that afternoon much better.

Your expression there is either "Oh crap, I'm so dead" or "What the heck is Ezra trying to describe with that whacky arm position?"

The big story here: We have some awesome new digs for next year.
http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-in ... iott-south
Thanks to everyone here at K&K that attended, and hopefully the lousy experiences with the hotel didn't dim your gaming enthusiasm for next year. Let's just say that the problems we had should never be an issue again...the Marriott is somewhere we hope to stay forever, and they have an experienced and dedicated staff who won't be confused by a convention of only a couple hundred attendees. They blew us away with their sales presentation and we signed on the dotted line immediately. Yes it's as nice as the photos make it look. Great location, good food, and more. Hope to see everyone there in 2013!

Mike:
I'm very excited about the new locale. In no way did the problems with Holiday Inn keep me from having an amazing weekend... but I'm sure the experience will just be that much better at a hotel that takes care of its customers.
I'll be sure to bring some less harsh and esophagus-burning bourbon next year for you

New spot looks great. Plus, being only three miles from the airport makes the logistics very easy.

We still have several NTRPG con 2012 digest releases for sale. Don't be looking for one when they all sell out!
Erol Otus: Island Town (D&D)
Steve Winter: The Tomb of Amemnes (D&D) and The Death of Tlangeshan (EPT)
Tim Kask: Castle of Glass (OD&D) and Sinister Secret of Sweetmeade Abbey (OD&D)
All are $10 each, and some are at under 20 copies. We have never reprinted a digest production yet, some of the early ones have gotten hard to find.
