Yep, I will be there. And for the second year, I will be running the AD&D Open. This is a single round AD&D tournament. Last year tacojon helped run the event and we ran two groups. This year it will be opened up for three groups, but just one round so you can still devote plenty of time to all the other super events. The tournament is sponsored by Pacestter Games & Simulations and there are prizes for everyone who plays.
I will also run a playtest AD&D game on Saturday night. Third year in a row for that one.
Finally, Pacesetter will be release several NTX Convention special products. One project is in conjunction with Center Stage Miniatuers and another with the Doug Rhea of NTX. Yes, you really need to come to this fantastic convention.

The Angry Wizard was over for a while this evening. We want to run our Skull Mountain/Urchinn Isles marathon on Thursday night at the K&K social. We'll alternate running 3 hour shifts all night long until we run out of conscious players :twisted: .

That sounds awesome. Will you have a set number of pre-selected players trying to make it all night, Jimm? Or will it be more like an ongoing pick-up game for anyone who wants to join? I mean, once Allan kills me in Aliens, can I shift over to SKull Mountain for the rest of the night?

This is the one big event every year that I look forward to. Sure feels like it's taking forever to get here!

I figure we'll just start playing with whoever takes a seat and let new players jump in whenever we switch DMs, or whenever there's a break in the action. Set number of players? Let's cap it at 20.

ANGRY-WIZARD (whose real name I can never remember) 8)

-- 25 gp is fine. I'll update my character sheet and we'll call it done.
Let me know by PM if you want to engage in any more transactions.

-- I like wheat. I like stout, too. So it sounds like I'll be in good shape, either way. Are you thinking something along the lines of a hefeweizen?

This is going to ROCK! :lol:

Doug and I talked to the "new" convention handler at the hotel today. She is the general manager also, she is very cool, and we are no longer dealing with middlemen which is awesome. She was throwing out stuff like "You guys need any snacks for the games?" and "Our shuttle is available 24 hours if you guys need to go anywhere" which is great. The space is HUGE this year (an entire ballroom, three smaller rooms, and two hospitality suites) with lots of room for games and whatever. We are going to have the K&K Social Thursday night inside of one of the hospitality suites, so the brew that you guys will bring can fuel your game as long as you want (or until everyone's character dies or everyone passes out, your choice). The hospitality suites all have a giant table for gaming, a fold out sofa, TV and a small kitchenette space. I'm running my B1 game across the hall so I may slip across during the game for a few cold tasty beverages myself.

BTW, for the history buffs among you, Doug got all the TSR posters he won in the recent EGG auctions framed, and they look incredible. He is bringing them all to the con, we are going to be allowed to hang them on the walls with temporary hooks. He has promo posters for PHB, DMG, Gamma World, Boot Hill, Top Secret, and several other goodies. The framing job was gorgeous (and expensive as hell) and they are going to blow your mind when you walk into the ballroom and see them hanging there on the walls...!

We have it down, along with a lot of other submissions, Doug just hasn't updated the con registration pages yet. I'm hoping he gets it done before he leaves on vacation the 16th of Feb. Game registration isn't until April 15th so apparently he's not in a hurry, but I wish he would get the info up soon.

BTW, raffle ticket sales are a little down this year. Along with the auction and selling digest modules, this is one of the few revenue streams of the con. We won't be able to sell drinks/snacks this year, not that we made a lot of money on that (a couple hundred bucks), but that's more money we won't see in 2012. Check out the prizes (and there will be more added), and note that for every year of the con the winner of the Angela Imrie painted figure has only bought ONE ticket and walked away with it!

If you wish to donate an item for the paid raffle, please email either Doug or I and let us know what you want to send and we will give you information you need to mail the item(s). We appreciate all donations for the raffle; it is one of the few revenue streams for the NTRPG Con. This page will be updated as we add items to the raffle:

Items for the Raffle (additional items will be added as they arrive)

"*" - indicates you do NOT have to be an attendee to win

* Dragon Magazine # 1

* Dungeon Magazine #1

* Castle Zagyg - Upper Works

* Strategic Review #1-7 (each raffled seperately)

* Swords & Wizardry White Box (in shrink)

* DCC #9 w/NTRPGCon Logo (2ea, signed by Erol Otus)

* Jim Holloway special Limited Edition art set from Cairn of the Skeleton King, 13 prints per set (2ea)

* DCC #51 Castle Whiterock (in shrink)

* Limited Edition Centerstage Miniature for NTRPG con 2012 - Lord of the Great Plains - Longhorn Minotaur

* A to-be-determined miniature painted by artist Angela Imrie

* Free Trip to NTRPGCon 2013 (within 48 contiguous states); includes airfare/gas (if you drive) & hotel room. If winner is not in the USA, we will award cash value reimbursement if you attend in 2013, non-transferable (basically this is up to a $550.00 credit toward your travel/stay to the Con in 2013 only)

Just a heads up, guys...

I just emailed Mike and Doug. While I'm still planning to be at the con this year, I'm withdrawing my game slot. I won't be running Flashing Blades or anything else officially this year.

I took a long, hard look at what I've got on my plate over the next 90+ days IRL...and decided that discretion was the better part of valor.

I apologize if anyone had their heart set on FB.

I've just got too much on my plate (and I'm not Iron Man Bill Barsh). 8)

As long as you can attend sporadically, that would be great! If nothing else hope to see you at the Wed night pre-con dinner, and perhaps a few sessions here and there (and on the weekend). Look at it this way, it gives you more time to play.....
