We got the band back together!
DMing my HS friends Over Skype tonight for our 4th session. It’s the same crew I’ve been getting together for a beer and cigars weekend every year since 1988. This year one of them floated playing D&D, all of them, except me have Not played since HS. It’s been interesting!

Very cool, nothing like the original guys. I'm hopefully gaming tonight. Day of outdoor "fun" removing/replacing old rotten wood from my house and gazebo to paint was rained out.

Some of my nieces and nephews have been here all week. We've watched movies, played board games (including WH40K orks vs. space marines, a game of Space Hulk, and a still going game of Twilight Imperium), done some star/planet observing with the telescope, swam and had a water balloon fight, and celebrated my youngest daughter's birthday -- she turned 18, which seems unbelievable). Quite a bit of good food while they've been here, too. We got donuts and kolaches one morning, made gyoza another day, had sushi on my daughter's birthday, and today we're BBQing pork tenderloin.

EDIT: Five teenagers + 2 young adults + 2 "real" adults eat one hell of a lot of pork tenderloin. But we still have some leftover for tomorrow...

Twilight Imperium is *still* going...it's an epic game.

Last night I threw some burgers on the grill for me and my son, then we took the dog for a walk and I told him a swords and sorcery story, then he hunted for snipe in the backyard for while (hahah!) and then we caught some fireflies. Fun evening!

I’m playing Traveller later today. We’re doing a single session to wrap up a campaign last played around 2015. Should be fun!

Have my father and more nieces/nephews visiting (this is a different set of nieces and nephews from last weekend). Usual swimming and games and such (younger kids, though, so not the usual games I'd pick). Grilled chicken and sausage, had a cooler of beer on hand, and despite the heat I set up one of those outdoor firepits so the kids could do smores.

Pretty much the same every weekend: home improvement projects, yardwork, tending to the vegetable gardens, and backyard axe throwing.

My 7-year-old son had an awesome surprise for me—he DM’d me through a dungeon of his own creation! (My wife helped. :D )

I read that as "magic light ring", which is a pretty useful item. I am wondering what a "pizza ring" is though.

This kid has serious potential. Very creative.

I think it would be awesome when a thief to try to pick someone's pocket for a lightning bolt to shoot out of the pocket and fry him/her. Of course, it'd probably also fry the pants off of the victim.

That's when no one eats the crust and leaves it in the pizza box. :!:
