Re: What you doing this weekend?
Taking my son down to Midway so he can fly back to CA, then spending a couple weeks bachelor because my wife had to fly out of town on a family emergency.

Baking a couple of apple pies for tomorrow's big meal with the in-laws. Also, making some bread dough and will be making a mashup of au gratin and Hasselback potatoes (cut the potates like for a gratin but stacking them on their edges to be like a hasselback). My BIL is gonna be grilling some lamb chops. Then passing into a food coma shortly after the meal.

Re: What you doing this weekend?
The boys are off playing this afternoon (E D&D with his school group, H with a friend a few blocks over), then we're playing in Henry's dungeon tonight.
Tomorrow we've got the family over for Easter lunch and games.
I suppose I should unload the minivan from GaryCon, since it's a nice day this afternoon. When I'm done that, I'll post the TTS#3 ordering details (got that all weighed out at the USPS yesterday and this morning).
Allan.

I'm sorry to hear about the family emergency.Wheggi wrote:Taking my son down to Midway so he can fly back to CA, then spending a couple weeks bachelor because my wife had to fly out of town on a family emergency.
This weekend we spent time as a family (always nice), and this afternoon I cleaned a bunch of boxes out of the garage (since Amazon became a thing, we seem to collect those cardboard boxes like crazy) and washed and lubed my bicycle (had some mud on it from yesterday's ride). It's been a lovely day, today. Probably will sit on the porch and enjoy some whisky and maybe a cigar.

Drove down to visit my mom in San Diego and had a lovely time, as always. Earned our keep by teaching my mom how to access Amazon Prime Video on her TV

Planning on relaxing with the family after my first week at a new job. Classes begin next week.

Re: What you doing this weekend?
Just got back from a bike ride with a guy from my neighborhood (first time I met him). We rode around the streets and creek/gully trails for about 40 mins. Thought I was doing well. Then he said "hey, let's sprint for a minute or two." Shit. I hung in there for about a min, and that was all I could handle.
Still, I didn't feel too bad, he's in the army and is 12 years younger than me (plus, when I first got back on this bike a month or two ago I could barely ride 15 mins without getting out of breath. Progress is progress.)
Anyway, this weekend we're going to go ride WG Jones State Park. I'm looking forward to it:

Also plan on grilling kalbi (Korean-style beef ribs) this weekend (just the family). Need to get a growler or two to go with that.

Re: What you doing this weekend?
The wife has to work this weekend, so I'm hoping to put in many hours on one of three OSRIC or Blueholme modules I currently have in some stage of incompletion. Or drink beer and smoke some BBQ. I'm not sure which will win out in the end.

Spring cleaning: purging crap, rearranging furniture, and (if the weather cooperates) rebuilding my front entryway.
Also, job hunting.
