What do you mean by "flooded out"? Was the site disturbed and scattered? ALso how did you find it (what did you look for).

i look for what we call "Midden rock" its super heated lime stone that breaks into sharp edged pieces.. that is at almost every camp i find.. and it has a certain smell and sight.. and the dirt around it has the same smell.. this particular area was right on the edge of a hill, right above a stream.... the points we found are old.. 8 K years and counting.. so 8 thousand years ago.. the stream was bigger, and the hill was higher.. add thousands of years of the rivers changing and flooding has washed out 8k years worth of dirt that has compiled.. i believe this was a little kitchen of part of a hunting camp... heres some pictures of the area.. we only dug for a couple of hours, so we didn't get a whole lot of work done...and this is the first time i have dug this spot... i think shes gonna hold some beauties..AxeMental wrote:What do you mean by "flooded out"?
