Resource and inspiration sites

Post by Mythmere »

I was surfing for useful stuff today, and I thought I'd post a couple of the sites I found.

Natural caverns
http://www.caverntours.com/CCMiddleEarth.htm This one has pictures of people in caverns, which gives a sense of scale.

http://www.cdli.ca/CITE/cave.htm Good information about caves

http://www.softwareartist.com/andrews-splunking.htm More cave pictures - water in these, which is cool.

Other (mainly travel) sites I've found have pictures.

Although very generic, I have found a lot of good images at http://www.webshots.com that I have used for inspiration in creating settings: castles, ruins, pyramids, mountains and much more.

A policeman knew my name
He said you can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away"

Do a google search on castle plans and medievel cities. Very cool stuff. Then do one on medievel monsters, or maybe its creatures. Heck, try both.
