Is Clang evolving?

Re: Is Clang evolving?
Yes, indeed. I take OSRIC on every one of my expeditions. When the girls see that swanky tome poking out of a tight-fitting bookbag any tour immediately becomes a sex tour. Oh, and it makes a great solid surface for spliff roll-ups afterwards.

Depends. If your wife starts looking at your "business" with a stunned/horrified look on her face, then it's definitely time to stop.Badmike wrote:My business grew 3 inches when I got my book. Should I buy another?![]()

OSRIC is still in print & just about the same as AD&D.thedungeondelver wrote:You're here because this is an actual AD&D 1e website that is proudly small-tent.
Also:
2009 - Switched game over to OSRIC with AD&D as support material.
Why would you do this.

It's a little known fact that the new OSRIC printing is the Three Wolf Moon Shirt of the Gaming World.PapersAndPaychecks wrote:Everyone who uses OSRIC is a better person. Pros: Matches my girthy frame, has dragons in it, attracts womenpoolboydeluxe wrote:It's a little known fact that the new OSRIC printing is the Three Wolf Moon Shirt of the Gaming World.
Cons: Only 10 kinds of dragons (could probably use a few more colors), cannot see dragons when sitting closed on the table, dragons would have been better if they glowed in the dark.

I have a friend who's really really really into wolves, and just about died when I sent him a link for that shirt. He, of course, bought one immediately!

Clang, "every day in every way your getting better and better" I want you to repeat three times a day while staring at your OSRIC book.

Thanks guysT. Foster wrote:I was looking at wheggi's copy of this last night and it really is awesome -- gorgeous-looking and super-sturdy. Re: Is Clang evolving?
Yeah, I'm definitely going to get one of these (even though my preference is the original hard-backs), but if I have new players wanting to join an AD&D game, I'm definitely going to recommend the Lulu or BBP version of OSRIC. Plus I'm really wanting it for the JH artwork!

Re: Is Clang evolving?
You know, I'm on about the same page as thedungeondelver when it comes to "real" AD&D vs. retroclones, but I'm really, really happy that I bought a copy at GaryCon. $26 is a STEAL.foxroe wrote:Yeah, I'm definitely going to get one of these (even though my preference is the original hard-backs), but if I have new players wanting to join an AD&D game, I'm definitely going to recommend the Lulu or BBP version of OSRIC. Re: Is Clang evolving?
The real issue here is (1e) AD&D is 23 years or so out of print. OSRIC is right there to fill that hole. I had SEVEN guys playing at my game on Friday. Three of them had never played 1e before and they liked it.foxroe wrote:Yeah, I'm definitely going to get one of these (even though my preference is the original hard-backs), but if I have new players wanting to join an AD&D game, I'm definitely going to recommend the Lulu or BBP version of OSRIC. Re: Is Clang evolving?
Yeh, all silliness aside, it's great to have all the rules you need in one book. The original AD&D HBs are two decades out of print and getting harder to find....and pricier, if I list a PHB in my ebay store for less than $25 it's gone in days. The original MM and DMG are pretty close behind. I don't see these on the shelves of used bookstores like I used to, either.Clangador wrote:The real issue here is (1e) AD&D is 23 years or so out of print. OSRIC is right there to fill that hole.
