Welcome aboard! I was playing 4E from late 2008 to early 2010 before stumbling across a great OD&D game. Never looked back! I haven't played 5E, so I can't comment on it.Guest wrote:Username: perplexagon. I read about the site in a 2009 article from the Escapist. I've been playing D&D 5e for a couple years, but recently became interested in OD&D after purchasing a large lot of early Dragon magazines (I've particularly enjoyed the long thread about Dwarven female beards) and the D&D cyclopedia.

Where ya gonna be when the hammer comes down?
Can you outshoot the Devil? Outrun his hounds?
Ain't nothing to it but to stay above ground.

Hail, oh ye poor bastards of K&KA! Eightbits has found ye.

I walked into a random hotel in Forth Worth one day. Hey, I was in the neighborhood. There was some kind of nerd fest with nerd activities going on. My genes started to kick in and I was just about to start shoving people into lockers when I noticed a bunch of them drinking beer. I thought, "Wait. Those aren't nerds." And so I drank beer with them and started playing a crazy game with crazy dice in an event the denizens called The K&K Social.
After the 10th beer or so, I starting hearing shadowy whispers of a secret room in the dark corners of the internet. With only fragments of information to go by like "knights", "n", "knaves", and ".com", I masterfully (if I do say so myself) pieced together the puzzle to find the secret door to this site. And here I am knocking on that door.
Don't make me cast Knock. You wouldn't like me when I cast Knock.

Hello
Re: Account approval thread.
Hello my user name is Chanur.
I found this board while looking for some old DnD material. I also have had Osric for a number of years and love the original style of it.
I am looking forward to being more involved with a community that shares my interest in the most classic of role playing games.

Re: Account approval thread.
Hiya! I registered as Roots, and I've been waiting a bit of time to be approved, and then I came across p. 85 on DF and it mentioned go to this thread if wanting approval.
Old time gamer; after the last three years of indecision of what FRPG to play, I decided to go back to my roots!
I've read pretty much every thread here (so many that I feel like I know many of you now). I like you guys and gals! Very classy and well informed.
Thanks!
