My dice aren't anything special. Just some odds and ends picked up as a young lad. Tonight I'll be playing Call of Cthulhu with a set of GameScience dice that I bought and painted in the last fortnight.

Thanks Odhanan! I bought a few sets and have painted two.

@Chainsaw: those casino dice look awesome with the GameScience dice.

The "wisteria purple" set was easy to paint. The numerals were either deep with sharp edges, which meant I painted imprecisely and wiped the excess off while still wet, or shallow with ill-defined edges, which meant I painted imprecisely, let dry, scratched off the excess with a nail, and touched up any lost bits of paint.

The "seashell white" on the other hand was a pain to paint using black acrylic... once that black paint hits the dice it is marked forever. So I had no choice but to try and hand paint the numerals precisely. I'm less happy with the result (below).

They can call that color what they want, but it will always be "Mindflayer Mauve" to me.

Hey, thanks. Also, your dice look great, man. I have tried inking/painting a few times with various methods and haven't been too happy. Next time I'll commission you. :)

Anyway, welcome aboard!

Thanks Chainsaw. I wanted to thank you for the welcome in the JG thread but didn't want to take it too off-topic. I'm quite happy to shoot the breeze in General tho'! :)

Holy Mother of Boccob, Tholian!

The Library of Congress called... they want their game collection back.

I have a mish-mash of dice from various vendors that I've had for decades (including some from Moldvay/Cook/Mentzer sets). I've got one that's a d6 with each face being a random dungeon feature (corridor, door, stairs) -- kind of useful.

I haven't gotten dice in forever, but I'm defintiely liking the Gamescience and casino dice on display here. ::emoticon for envy::

So... here's what I don't understand, Tholianweb. You say:
Tholianweb wrote:That is promising HOWEVER Pathfinder is NOT 4th Edition. Pathfinder is 3.5 and 4th Edition is just the stuff you put in a pig's pen to eat (slop???)...
But you actually wish to have a smaller collection, and have this:

Image

Notice the 4th edition row at the bottom left, with all three special edition core books, 2 copies of the forgotten realms campaign setting, 2 copies of the Player's Handbook 3 if I'm not mistaken, and on and on it goes.

Seriously? What the fuck, dude? Are you bipolar or something?

No, not at all... I am what some have referred to as a completist. I wish to have a complete collection of everything that has the D&D name to it and/or anything related to fantasy roleplaying games. Unfortuantely, that covers everything from the old to the new.

I am already trying to get all the hardcover books for OSRIC but paying 95.00 for a color version is just not cutting it but I may get the B/W one.

Now, I will add that this is just half of the collection. The other half is in my house in Alabama and that consists strictly of the periods of 1965 to 1992. My sister was an avid wargamer and her collection is part of that there. When i begin my travels to the cons and all the gaming stores and I buy old school material, I send it to Alabama.

I will also add that i have over 350 board games to. LOL I love board games too...

Tholianweb, seeing your collection makes me glad I jumped off the collecting bandwagon as early as I did (though arguably still not early enough) ;)

I've been slowly divesting myself of stuff I will never use, over the past couple of years.

The RPG collection is getting hit now... fortunately it was never that large.

Whatever that "collecting" gene is, it suddenly fell out of my chromosome.

Believe me T. Foster, I wish in a way I never got to be a collector. I am not even going to tell you how much I spent in the last 30 years collecting gaming items, books, miniatures, dice, etc...

I will say that whoever is my heir when my time comes will have a lot to deal with. LOL

PATW - Did you see the killer clown miniature pictures I posted for you?
Seriously? What the fuck, dude? Are you bipolar or something?
ha ha ha  I know that I mentioned board games before but I promised myself I WOULD not buy more then 4 boardgames a month BUT I bought 5 last week. LOL Some of my old friends who I have gamed with for 25 years+ call me a hoarder but I told them that I do not collect useless junk. LOL Maybe I should go on that Hoarder show on TV.
