Heh, this is exactly the show COVINGTON CROSS (1992) with the same scene from the advertisement:

Gene, do me a favor and see if you can track that down. I'm a big Alan Parsons fan (at least the earlier stuff). I didn't think they did much touring in the USA (I know of only one national tour with Kansas I think back in the 90s. I remember because my two brothers went to it...said it was awesome). Gotta love that "Turn of a Friendly Card", "I Robot", "Amonia Avenue", etc.geneweigel wrote:That guy has lingered on and he resurfaces from time to time. I recall seeing him in TROY as a bearded slightly effeminate noble. There was an late 80's (90's?) TV show with him about a castle, I can't even remember but it wasn't bad at the time I liked it. The advertisement had him yelling at swordsmen "No FIGHTING IN THE CASTLE!". Like I said it wasn't bad but who knows how it aged? There was a lot of shit on TV back then.Wheggi wrote:Okay, re-watched Excalibur and I had totally forgotten that King Arthur looks just like Alan Parsons. Good thing he didn't do the soundtrack, huh.

I loved this movie, it made my imagination run wild, a more recent movie that inspires AD&D in me is Flesh and Blood with Rutger Hauer... it is very gritty, and somewhat sick, but it evokes the image I have of D&D

It has been proven.
Otherwise it is a good flick.

I'm referring to the guy who played King Arthur the actor Nigel Terry, of course.
I know next to nothing about the Alan Parsons Project.
I wish somebody would suggest some mood music without it being "progressive rock"...

Depends on the mood.

Re: Excalibur (1981)
Haha, thought you meant there was a TV show with Alan Parsons walking around in a castle. Yeah Nigel Terry was great as Arthur but didn't seem to do much afterward. I always thought Excalibur had a great Merlin (Nicol Williamson) also seemed to mostly disappear. Yet a couple of the extras seemed to make it big (Liam Neeson, Gabrial Byrne)geneweigel wrote:I'm referring to the guy who played King Arthur the actor Nigel Terry, of course.

What about Helen Mirren? I swear she's in everything these days and I'm always like, "Hey its Morgana! Whew, she got old..."
Re: Excalibur (1981)
Isnt Patrick Stewart in this, as one of the knights, I am thinking of a scene in which the newly drawn sword is in the young arthurs hands in a moat....
Re: Excalibur (1981)
How did I forget about him (perhaps blocking out the entire existence of Next Generation from my head). Of course he's great in Dune.....so.

Well, she ain't as bad lookin' as she was in her last scene in the film, but she probably has a few years yet anyway.thedungeondelver wrote: I still think she's good lookin'.
