I agree 100%, My AD&D manuals are covered in pencil notes, heck in some of them I have colored in the illustrations. The old AD&D books felt like old tomes, the glossy paper books make feel like I am looking thru the Sear's & Roebuck catalog
I want to hear what you did in the dungeon, not the voting booth. Politics and rules minutia both bore me in my opinion.
