A little help here. I think I know most of these acronyms.
TOS: The Original Series
TAS: The Animated Series
ST V: Star Trek, Voyager
TNG: The Next Generation
But what the hell is BSG-GINO? My sci-fi geek-fu is weak . . .

Stephen Colbert: “What would you do, when coming up with your character you roll six rolls of three six-sided dice to come up with your character”
Joe Magliano: “There’s a new way now where you roll 4d6 and you take away the lowest.”
Stephen Colbert: “Really? That’s for children!”

GINO == Galactica In Name Only
Just to be a little bit of a jerk about this, but in consideration of any discussion regarding the new ST movie and BSG-GINO, what do ya'll think of West Side Story?

Is this a slip, or did B5 actually have a character named directly after the author of The Stars, My Destination (one of the all-time great sf classics and very highly recommended to anyone who hasn't read it)?WereSteve wrote:Alfred Bester on B5

Don't feel too bad. At least Rodenberry only went bonkers at the end of his life. Lucas started going down hill when he had the Rebels having to enlist the help of furry Stone Aged midgets to defeat an entire Legion of Stormtroopers. Then he gave us Jar-Jar Binks and Manequin Skywalker.Semaj Khan wrote:I hereby swear on the holy dilithium chamber that TOS and its movies are the One True Trek... all else is heresy and of the Devil.

Associated Press - A Big Hole In The Ground - The town of Riverside, Iowa was instantly vaporized this afternoon shortly after an oddly-shaped vehicle materialized from nowhere in the sky above the central business district [of Riverside, IA]. Eyewitness accounts described the object, and an odd announcement emanating from the vehicle. See accompanying image.

The animation was borderline awful (looks simple but fair as stills), the stories were often good , the voices were right on the mark. It also introduced lot's of cool stuff like Caitans, Edoans & Kzinti (straight from Larry Niven's own typewriter)/T.
