Gary Con - Lake Geneva WI March 7&8

Post by JRMapes »

Luke Gygax sent me a nice note to remind us of the upcoming Gary Con this March

"memorial gaming weekend in Lake Geneva, WI on 7&8 March in honor of my Dad and his life. It is called Gary Con. It is a free get together with a definite old school focus..."

I'm definitely going but I've got a year to figure out what i'm going to be doing.

I'd like to perhaps participate in or do a tribute of some kind to Jerry.

Alright, I thought that I mentioned this already but I'm going to run 3 things if possible.

One large D&D (as big a group as possible), one small D&D (maybe 2 or 3 or more) and one private after the con.

NB: And so far the date hasn't been pinned down but GARYCON II seems to be around the same time as GARYCON I.

I'd really love to go to this, but between the need to buy an airline ticket, get a hotel room, take time off work, etc. it just doesn't seem possible. :(

I'm just staying in focus and it'll happen. One way or another. ;)

I changed my mind, I won't be going after all.

Then fuck it. If Gene's not going, I'm not either.

Nah, two words: Zeb Cook

Can't ignore that. So it looks like my con days have come to a bitter end. That is unless someone pops up an alternative sooner or later.

Hi Gene,

I am in Ohio, but I have a good friend in Jersey City, and we usually try to go to Dex Con in July, which is held in East Brunswick, New Jersey. You ever go?

You're not going because David Cook is going, or because he wants to play in your game? :D

I wasn't aware of that one. I'll check it out.

Its like a real whammy because its not like he's definitely going but Gygax's son seems to want him to.

That has so many angles that aren't my cup of tea if you know what I mean. Whats next? Ed Greenwood in an intimate setting? Bleh! I'll pass...

Why do I feel like I'm missing a chapter or two of backstory?
