Houston area gamers roll call?
All 1st & 2nd edition AD&D players (and old Top Secret, 1st ed Boot Hill, Classic Traveller...) & DMs who live in the Houston area please speak up.
I live in western Colorado, but a close friend lives in Baytown Tx, and seriously needs some gaming.
The only problem is that he works the 11pm-7am shift.
I am sure he could work out something for the weekend, though.
I would like to be able to show him a list of contacts when he comes for a visit the last week of August, so if you're willing, please make a post, and we'll see what happens.
thanks, Jon

I'm currently a player in Mythmere's biweekly Saturday Night AD&Dish (house ruled to hell, but still Old School and Fun) game, and I run a biweekly Friday Night Call of Cthulhu game with another group. Although, when the current nearly year long campaign wraps up, the Cthulhu group may switch to Rolemaster for a few sessions before we return to the Cthulhoid horrors.
The CoC game is in the Galleria area of Houston, while Matt's game is either just outside the Houston City Limits in Belaire or further out in Missouri City.
Baytown though is like an hour from Missouri City, where Mythmere's group has been playing lately. The Galleria area is closer, but only by 15 minutes or so. That is, if he's even interested in other Old Schoolish games.

There's also a Houston Area Dungeons & Dragons Meetup group:

Of course, it's mostly 3.5 games - but you do occasionally see an old stick-in-the-mud D&D fan like me hanging out there.

Back when I was running a 3e campaign I tried meeting a couple of people, and gave up after a few real winners. While I'm choosy about the group, none of the 3e people ever even made it to the point where choosiness came into play. It was more along the lines of "run screaming" than "I wonder if you'd be a good fit for this particular group."northrundicandus wrote:Folks who haven't mastered Hygiene 101 need not apply.

Our hobby unfortunately attracts some real social misfits. You'd think they'd all be busy playing CRPGs or be in a Vampire LARP, but no. They still stubbornly cling to tabletop games.Mythmere wrote:

Where do I send my resume?Mythmere wrote:If you do, you and North and I should get together for lunch and make sure none of us is an axe murderer or a basement dweller and think about joining up. There needs to be an eharmony for gaming . . .
