He wanted me to let you know that he has a broken broadband connection and it may be a few days before it is fixed.

Apparently, they got it fixed sometime late last night, so I should be set up now. Amazing how they can suddenly remotely fix something they swore up and down was a problem at my house.

First line of customer support.. blame it on the customer.

Actually, one time I bitched at them and it turns out my dogs had knocked around their little post thingy in my backyard, which routes traffic for a couple of blocks around. So we knocked out everyone's internet, cable, and digital phone for several households.

That time, I snootily told them that if they were going to put their equipment in peoples' backyards it ought to be sturdy enough to stand up to a couple of 150lb dogs ploughing into it while they're playing.

Then the dogs somehow got out while they were working (probably one of the kids) and I had two terrified cable repairmen backed up against the fence. I'm probably on their shit list.

They're friendly dogs, but you can see from the pictures how they might make people nervous. (These aren't my dogs - I don't have any pictures of mine on photobucket so I just pulled a couple. Neither of mine is as big as Merlin).
