Open Invitation
I recently put a "Grognard's Den" up at the Kenzer and Company discussion forums for the discussion of OOP RPGs. So please swing by if you get a chance and talk it up!
Its buried down in the Gamerdom section of the Boards.

Thanks, stranger.stranger wrote:I don't see a problem with the request either. In fact because of it I took a look at the Kenzer boards for the first time. It isn't likely I will post much on a Hackmaster site but I will peek in on your area from time to time.
I was in a position to add another "Old School" discussion forum to the internet and thought it would be cool if a few Crusty Ole' Grognards would help christen the place. I understand if some OOP folks are put off by Hackmaster. My intention was not to inject said RPG into anyones forum activity, more to lend support and increase awareness re. OOP RPGs.

I spoke half in jest, Wes. I tell you what, since you're running it under that mindset, I'll be more than happy to stop by.Wes wrote:Thanks, stranger.stranger wrote:I don't see a problem with the request either. Are you the forum mod? What's the stance on version war? The reason I ask isn't so I can go and start one, just so that I won't have to slog through thirty pages of Why Hackmaster Rules to get to a thread I might wanna read.
Thanks DD!
I'm admin - Yorkus has Mod (which he mods lightly)
Here's the Posting Rules I posted up when I created the forum:
Again, no big deal. Just a small space to throw a little OOP awareness around. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel. Thanks again!

I didn't single out Hackmaster, and I'll of course respect Yorkus's authority as Mod - but I did not create the forum for folks to banter back and forth about OOP vs. IP.Welcome to the Grognard's Den! This is a forum for the discussion of Old School and Out of Print RPGs.
Posting Rules:
1) All Posting and Conduct Rules in the main FAQ apply here.
2) This forum is not for ten page threads arguing about whether D20 is better/worse than any other OOP engine. Please leave that discussion in Face Off or Gamers Gone Wild.
3) Any Genre applies in the Gorgnard's Den - not just Fantasy
4) Have fun!

Sorry about the cartoon. It somehow popped in my head and I just couldn't resist!
I actually did check it out and they were mostly talking about a bunch of RPGs I don't know anything about. I'm glad the Kenzer regulars now have a place to talk old-school, but I don't think I have much in common with them over there. I get my fix at Knights & Knaves.
As for Kenzer's products, I have no beef. Well, probably like most people here I skimmed through the HM series in hopes of some new quality Old School goodness, and just didn't find it. (I heard Slaughterhouse Indigo was a decent adventure, but to be honest I haven't gotten the chance to look through it.) The one opportunity they had to do something monumentally and immortally great was the City of Brass, and in my opinion they botched that big time. Regards.
