Hmmm ... shit! I didn't see it and got the nicer paperback instead. Would have liked to have gotten that $28 hardback instead.

Received my OSRIC book today. VERY nice and well done. The art is great, its explanations are clear and well worded, and its SO nice to have so much of what you need in one volume :) ....

This will be my new resource I bring when I DM .. not my old PHB, DMG, MM, etc. They will get a well deserved rest.

Big kudos to the crew that made this happen. Very nice.

World of Ariakus coming soon

Post by Vigilance »

Hey guys, this is Chuck, who wrote OSRIC Unearthed a couple years ago, which you may have heard of (I hope?)

Anyway, it took me awhile but I've been bitten by the old-school bug again and I've written a campaign world.

It's an adaptation of several campaign worlds I've run for AD&D over the decades.

It's called World of Ariakus and it'll be released soon.

My goal was to try and make an old-school, Gygaxian toybox, something along the lines of Greyhawk or Hyboria.

If you're interested in seeing the map, I've posted it here.

And if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks! I did *not* draw it, all credit goes to Keith Curtis.

All I did was label it in photoshop.

Working on this world has been a real joy for me. Very freeing.

Sweet! I've been buying and using a bunch of your pdfs for many years now. I will be looking forward to this.

Nice use of the stock art world as well. :)

Thanks man!

And if I can paraphrase Kurt Russel, this is a book about a map in many ways.

I came across the map on RPGNow and instantly fell in love with it, and wanted to do something with it.

As I began to think back on the many AD&D worlds I had ran over the decades the idea for this book crystalized in my mind.

See, a lot of people rush to do their campaign world as the first thing they publish but that never felt right to me. I actually got about 30 pages into a 3e version of my main campaign world, with a dozen or so PrCs detailed.

But it never felt right to me.

I have actually gotten a warm response for past OSRIC work I did, so 2 and 2 clicked in my head, and I decided to do something I avoided doing for 7 years as a professional freelancer.

And unlike previous attempts to translate this world into a product, this one feels right. Maybe its my state of mind, or maybe its OSRIC.

Also gotta say, crunch light is a very nice, free feeling for me.

I had a direct link to the almost unfindable economy hardbound but now even that doesn't work.

As best I can tell, the economy hardbound is no longer to be found anywhere on Lulu. Unless I missed a secret meeting, I'm certain this is an oversight, but I am a minor cog in this machine and cannot help you.

Matt? Are you reading this? Is this a soon-to-be-remedied error?

I am waiting for word back from Lulu. It is still in the FES files and It can be found with some careful searching but for some reason is missing from the storefront and the old link.

No problem. If Lulu does not resolve the problem in the next day or two I will simply reload the files and place it back on the storefront.
