WANTED: Web Designer who works for the love of the art

Post by Kramer »

This time, I will be very, very honest; I need someone to redesign http://www.usherwoodadventures.com...but I have no budget to do it, and no time in my personal schedule. There's also no deadline. I am totally open to any creative solution a web designer (or even a student looking for a portfolio piece) can sell me on. Here's the details I am currently aware of;
  • The current web sitewas designed with Adobe Dreamweaver which I still have (CC 2018). So, while not required, it would be helpful if you used it too.
  • I am not actually not selling anything directly on the website. So a shopping cart is the last thing on my mind.
  • It must be easily maintained and updated, because I know myself, and if it takes more 10 minutes to make an update, I won't do it.
  • It must exude, secret and have the stench of Usherwood. In other words, if you're a closet Usherwood geek, you're my Huckleberry. That is, I do what I can to divorce myself from the rest of the crowd. That said, I think Usherwood A(a)dventures has a specific look-and-feel by now. So, be willing to work within those boundaries.
  • As much as I want the website to promote Usherwood, I also want it to promote OSRIC...in whatever form that takes.
  • Incorporating the Scriptorium in a meaningful way would get you big brownie points.
Other than that...sell me on something totally cool and beyond the norm.

If you're a K-n-K regular who knows someone who knows someone with a cousin who has a kid in college...let me know.

Hi Kramer,
I'm not offering myself to do it, but I've worked in web design for a good ten years up to 2010, although I'm not very up to date with current IT developments, I thought you may appreciate some advice.
As you have Wordpress installed for your blog, the easiest thing to do would probably "absorb" the rest of your Usherwood site in the wordpress Content Management System.
Updating wordpress sites is quite easy and there's so many themes and widgets you can literally do anything with your site.
