D&D Therapy
I laughed at the people that charge groups a fee to run D&D games for them, but apparently I can just pay for it with my medical insurance. I wonder if I can make a Half-Orc Assassin and join the 'The Self-Rescuing Princess' group? Bring on the therapy!!

Re: D&D Therapy
I’m not sure the game is helping the young sociopath here...”He and the dracolich really connected about how hard it is to not have friends, to not have people you can relate to, and then the dracolich became an ally. They worked with the dracolich and convinced him to help them out, which is much different than making a deal with the devil and convincing him that he should," Davis said. "He empathized with the dracolich. We always ask a question at the end which is, ‘What is something you're going to take away with you?' and this young person said, ‘I never expected to have empathy with a dracolich.'"
Since then, the player's characters have changed in games, and the last character he played was an assassin who always had people around him.

I dunno about paying some dufus to run a game for you, but hanging with friends and yucking it up is good "therapy" for everyone.

Re: D&D Therapy
They need to ratchet that on tight to "graded edition labeled D&D" (GELDD) for sure...
In all seriousness, I have to say I might try to help as some people really do have problems so I might even encourage a special game but it would have to be far from the norm. If it is as it seems that the psychiatrist in the video is encouraging all play be that dry then that is way too much.

Welp...I'm off to find the Great Hall! Bye y'all!
I'd imagine the number of people who RPG to escape reality is far, far greater than those who do so to therapeutically cope with it.
