TexMexiCon 2018

Post by austinjimm »

Ok, it's not really a con-- just another one of our "So... Texas" games (if anybody remembers those).

We've been organizing this for a while now, but I wanted to post a public thread in case anyone else in Texas is interested. On Saturday April 28, we'll be playing a one-off scenario in the private room of Ama's Mexican Restaurant in Hearne, TX. The location is fairly central to Austin, Houston, and Dallas/Fort Worth. A contingent from each of those areas will probably be driving in for the game. So if you are in/near one of those, car pooling is a possibility. Here is the stat block version the event:
What: OD&D (Planet Eris) - The Purple Worm Graveyard (characters level 2-4); Lots of Mexican Food, Beer, Margaritas, etc., etc.
When: 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2018
Where: Ama's Mexican Restaurant, 1647 N Market St, Hearne, TX 77859
Who:
- Austinjimm (DM, confirmed, Austin)
- Philotomy (confirmed, Houston)
- DungeonDork (confirmed, Houston)
- John A. (confirmed, Austin)
- Arthur F. (confirmed, Austin)
- Mad_Mac (confirmed, Austin)
- CountingWizard (confirmed, Austin)
- Flambeaux +3 (confirmed, Dallas)
If my attendee list is not accurate (or if I forgot someone, or if your status has changed), just chime in and I'll fix it. Even with the "maybes" on the list, we could still take a couple more players. If anyone is interested, just post here or PM me.

EDIT: Attendance is capped for now, but might reopen if Flambeaux can't make it.

EDIT #2: Flambeaux is confirmed. If there are any cancellations between now and then I might open 1 more seat, but it's pretty tight as of now.

PJ let's set up a carpool.
The DUNGEON MASTERS GUIDE City of Brass cover is good and bad at the same time. While its very representational of a high level adventure, it sends a clear message to the dumb: Satan is going to cornhole Miss USA with a big red member and theres nothing science or the military can do about it. - Gene Weigel

For those who have played at these before, do you still have your old characters (Leftento, etc.)? If you do, please post their NAME / CLASS / LEVEL.

(You don't have to use your old characters, but you can if you want.)

For that matter, if you have any other existing character(s) of about the right level range (from wherever!), I always prefer players use existing characters to pregens.

Thanks, Jimm!

I'll confirm my availability and how many I'm bringing later this week. If we can come, I'll try to dig up my old characters. :)

CountingWizard has updated as "confirmed."

I'm going to cap it for now until we hear from Flambeaux.
His seats are saved until then.

Looks like we're in.

I'll have at least 2 teenagers with me, both of whom played in Mythrus Tower at last year's NTPRG Con. One of them is my oldest, whom some of you will remember playing with the last few times we had one of these get-togethers. The other is his best friend, a regular at my game table.

I may also bring my 10-year-old, who's played at Balrog62's table, and would love to play with the Hearne Krewe. But the table is looking full and I don't want to impose.

Jimm, would he be 1 too many?

That should be fine, since you are all coming as a group. I have 2 or 3 people on a waiting list who requested seats after I capped attendance, but I figure your group is all or nothing, so bringing your 10-y.o. is not imposing on their chances of getting in. With you and your "krewe" it brings us to 11 people at the table. It might be a little tight, but should be fun!
