Post by gizmomathboy »

A buddy gave me a 3D printer for xmas.

First long print turned out well.

Ha! Cool!

I'm thinking about how I'm gonna paint it.

The shapeways picture has an awful paint job I think.

I don't know if I'll sand it to get it smoother and take out some of the tessellation that was part of the 3D model and not part of the gcode generation/printing.

I think I'll be close to the PHB cover as I can get (with the paints I have or can get on short order).

The one paint I don't have is a filling primer (in case I don't want to sand).

Looks far better than a mini of that idol I saw and contemplated buying but the latter's physique was too...muscular, compared to the painting IMO. Now you need some dead lizard-men draped over the altar and you're good to go! :)

If I had a 3D printer I'd tackle Gorgar, the warrior-hero and the damsel-in-distress from the pinball game's art. \m/ 8)

Looks like fun

Very cool.

I've always thought it looked like an efreet. The horns are just in a difference position.

Maybe it can be used to summon fire elementals if the right ritual is performed. Maybe it summons an especially large one if the statue is defaced.
