Winter War 45

For the 10th consecutive year, I am running an AD&D 1e/OSRIC Session at Winter War 45 in Champaign/Urbana, IL on Saturday, January 26 @ 3 PM - 7 PM. This year I’m running "The Odboxx of Zoforon", a dungeon module written by K&K's own Angry Wizard and Austinjimm.

The Odboxx of Zoforon (4 hrs)
Role Playing Game | AD&D 1e/OSRIC | 8 of 8 Seats Left
Some Experience with Specific Game | Teens and Up (13+) | £2.00
After a night of drinking in Slock’s Tavern you retire to your room. One by one your besotted companions depart to the Land of Nod…Only to be yanked back to stark wakefulness by a series of heavy, rapid knocks at the door. Upon answering no one is there, but a small, ornate golden box sits at the threshold. Inside the box is lined with plush red fabric and holds a rolled strip of metallic-gold paper that seems to have some writing etched upon it… “The Odboxx of Zoforon” is a dungeon module scriven by the Scribes of Sparn. Pre-generated characters of levels 4-7 will be provided.

Update: I'm now running two AD&D 1e games at Winter War.

I added a second session "Tower of Bones" which is part of a forthcoming module project led by our own Axe Mental!

Pre-registration has been open for a week and seats are going fast. I only have 1/8 left for Odboxx and 4/8 left for Tower of Bones.

Your party followed a map (won at a price too dear to speak of) deep into the heart of the black fen. The journey has been long and the remnants of the road you were traveling upon have long since surrendered to the marsh and bogs. At last, a ruin-sprawled clearing appears before you. The Tower of Bones looms in its center, still stubbornly standing in spite of its dilapidation. The mere sight of the tower is enough to dampen your spirit for adventure. But then your mind turns to the fabled treasure of the wizard Warthraw which you believe to be somewhere inside… The Tower of Bones is a part of the forthcoming AD&D 1e/OSRIC module “Hoard of Delusion”. Pre-generated characters of low to intermediate levels will be provided.

Update: Pre-registration for WW45 ended yesterday.

My Saturday afternoon game, Odboxx of Zofforon, sold out (0/8 seats left).
My Saturday morning game, Tower of Bones, still has 4/8 seats left.
There's another 2-session AD&D game, Tomb of Horrors, running during my games with 4/8 seats left.

Slowly, but surely, we're putting an old school rpg vibe back into this con. The miniatures gaming there has always been top-notch. And there's another huge plus: NO "Celebrities"!

I'm looking forward to some great gaming. Here's my tentative schedule:

I'm back for Winter War and it was a great, well-run con experience, as usual.

Both my AD&D 1e games sold out and were some of the top sessions of my ten-year run of DMing AD&D at the con. I'll be posting some highlights from those games over the next couple of weeks.
