No sign of Spock.

I preferred Trailer 1. Beautiful score, beautiful vignettes.

This one has too many explosions. Still, I am intrigued by the plot. Each of the leads (Kylo Ren, Rey, and Finn) is teased to be somehow switching sides. Could be fun!

I just like the little penguin muppet thing that's friends with Chewbacca. Hopefully he won't become as overdone as the ewoks.

[EDIT: Google tells me he's called a Porg and apparently there's a whole race of him]

My wife and kids have been keeping up with all this as they are really big in to SW fandom. I like the second trailer, the one that just dropped, better than the first. I'm looking forward to this movie, especially getting to see it with my kids.

As an aside about the Porgs (the space puffins): my wife informs me they were a concession to necessity. There are puffins all over Skellig Michael in Ireland where they shot the Rey-Luke scenes. Rather than edit them out, the prod team elected to incorporate them into the film. My wife knows too much about this stuff so I'm going to stop lecturing now... 8)

Little carnivorous tribbles, then. A pack of them will undoubtedly kill off some baddie at an opportune moment!

My wife informs me that a group of Porgs is called a "murder", as in a murder of crows.
A murder of porgs...yep, I'm seeing a fitting end for some bad-guy here, too.

The penguins will undoubtedly defeat a vastly superior military unit. All this has happened before yadda yoda yadda ...

I've not kept up with the SW spoiler lit, but I was wondering what thing was in the latest trailer.

It won't spoil my enjoyment of it at least, but the trailer is pointing towards an ominous shift in the fundamental beliefs in the Force, and that alone makes me apprehensive.

I’m not sure about that. Perhaps all Luke is saying is that maybe it’s better never to train Jedi, if they’re just going to keep turning to the Dark Side.

I've long thought that the obvious conclusion from the old "Star Wars Expanded Universe". Those who used the Force in that shared universe did a lot more harm than good.
