Coolio! The AV scenario I've been given to run for you guys is going to be fun! The map's a little crazy, but in a good way!

I haven't figured out what to run this year. I haven't submitted anything yet, but I've been mulling some things over the last couple days. Here's what I might do. I'm interested in feedback. What you think might be cool; what might be not so cool.

Wed. (Evening): F'Chelrak's Tomb
(my revised Planet Eris version that I ran several years ago)

Thurs. (Morning/Afternoon): Judges Guild Journal #16/Knaveworld Sandbox
(Hybrid OD&D/AD&D rules; Choose your dungeon: 1 of 5 from JGJ#16. All are placed on a small scale wilderness map; Ideally, I'd like to run this in the same room as the K&KA social, but earlier in the day.)

Sat. (Morning): DUNGEON! for Kids!
(The original DUNGEON! board game, but with a 3x scale game board-- approx. 5'x4.5'-- built up as 3D dungeon terrain. Instead of colored pawns, you use cool painted minis.)

Sat. (Afternoon/Evening): DUNGEON! for Adults!
(Same coolness as above, but with modified rules so your character starts out at low level and advances as you collect the required amount of loot and take it out of the dungeon. Who can get their character to the highest level?)

Well, after 9 years of playing in games, I went ahead and bit the bullet: I'm offering to run a game. A couple of years ago, I dug out one of my old dungeon crawls from my college days. You know, one of those senseless murder-hobo style of craziness. Well, after running it for almost a year with my home group, I'm going to let the public see it.

Game Title: The Folly of Verulam (Sat 6pm-11pm)
Game System: 1e AD&D with some homebrew adjustments
Number of players: up to 8
Pregens/Level of characters: yes / 4-7
World/Setting: homebrew Tandok
Game Info: The caverns/tombs were discovered 67 years ago by the ranger Verulam. Gathering a group to explore the area, Verulam led a group through the large front doors. A week later, two of the adventurers returned with a bundle of wealth, a couple of ancient artifacts, and stories of demons, undead, and evil. The lure of easy money outweighed the risks for many. Your group was hired to determine if the sighting of a green dragon is connected with the tomb. A site-based adventure for player characters of levels 4-7.

I finally submitted a game. I'll be doing at least one more, but here's my first one.

EDIT: Friday PM
Game Title: The Purple Worm Graveyard
Game System: OD&D/Planet Eris
Number of players: 8
Pregens/Level of characters: no / 1-3
World/Setting: Planet Eris
Game Info: When the largest and most ancient of purple worms know that the time of their death is near, they make their way through rock, earth, and water to the legendary Purple Worm Graveyard. The graveyard is said to lie somewhere in the mountains between the Sands of Nod and the Jungles of Brool, but its exact location is unknown. Now and then an adventuring expedition sets out on a hunch or clue seeking the graveyard. Most return empty-handed and dispirited. Some never return. But a few, just enough to keep the legend alive, come back with whispered tales of subterranean fields littered with a fortune in purple ivory, unguarded and ripe for the take.

This is an expanded version of the original Purple Worm Graveyard by Tony Dowler. Characters will be created at the table. Existing Planet Eris, OD&D, or Swords & Wizardry characters may also be used, pending DM approval.

Is anyone else still planning to submit some 0E/1E/BX games?

I'm still looking for something to play in Friday daytime and Saturday evening.

(I was leaning towards signing up for tacojon's Sat PM game, but it starts and runs late, being that far into the Con.)

I apparently only have two games in the schedule, may add a third. We'll see.

I need to submit a game still. I’ll probably do one I just ran at Garycon (leaning towards Forgotten Grottoes of the Sea Lords). I’ve typically run one Thursday morning but might do another time if there is something I want to get into.

EDIT: Looking over the schedule, I am instead leaning to running a game Saturday night, 1800-2400. I'll submit one soon, but I kind of want to see what other people are running so I don't miss anything cool!

I missed Gary Con but I'm now signed up for NTX. This will be my second showing, the last was in 2016. I'll be getting in Thursday afternoon and staying until Sunday around noon. I saw there were still a few spots for the K&KA social, so I grabbed a ticket for that.

I've submitted my Return to the Tower of Zenopus game (Holmes/OD&D) for Saturday afternoon but it is not yet approved. There will actually be three different Zenopus games at the con this year. There's a different "Return" game, written by another, being run on Friday night using an OSR ruleset (Black Hack). And Bill Barsh has just scheduled three sessions of some kind of fleshed out Zenopus dungeon as a tournament with Wed, Thur and Fri sessions. There's also another Holmes Basic inspired game during the day on Friday. Not bad for the 40th anniversary year of Basic (Aug 2017-Aug 2018).

That's high on my "want to play" list!

It's in there. I am looking at playing that one, as well.

I was expecting an email first (as they do with Gary Con), so I hadn't realized it was up there already. Thanks!

Potential change of plans for me. A good friend from Texas is now in and signed up for the social. However, he can only stay until Friday morning. So, I’m looking at arriving on Wednesday now instead of Thursday. Question: anything planned for Wed night? If not, I’m happy to run something if people are around.

I'm running my OD&D Isle of Dreadmoor megadungeon on Wed night, but the early-slots are taken. (Might have to submit more events if people don't start submitting stuff for Fri AM and Sat PM, so get to it, slackers!).

I should have at least 3 levels ready for the Con:

1. B1 Rogahn & Zelligar inspired level, the bunny slopes of D&D.

2. Tegel Manor/X2 Castle Amber inspired, crazy wizard family's haunted castle.

3. Cthulhu/Temple of the Frog inspired, get rich quick or die trying level.

I'd like to have a D3/B4 inspired underground elf city level, too, but that might be too ambitious.

If booth setup goes as quickly as it did at GaryCon this year, I would definitely like to play something Wednesday night!
