As I said to my wife, “The ad copy writes itself! No better way to spend a Saturday night than with a Galway Hooker!”

Okay, so who is on Untappd these days?

I was on, before, but haven't kept up. I just made some check-ins, though. I'm Enoc Hoddypeak.

Out in Kichijoji the other night. They have some nice craft beers available:

Went out to dinner with my wife last night. The sushi bar we favor has a good selection of sake, but pretty standard beers. I was in a beer mood, so I just stuck with Sapporo. The meal was excellent, though. The chef had purchased mirugai that morning, so I had mirugai sashimi, kampachi sashimi, and various kinds of sushi (maguro, tako, ika, and uni). Oh, and king salmon. It was a nice night out.

Didn't take any pics, though.

So, Matthew, has craft beer become big in Japan?

Running Walker Kölsch (picked up a growler). I don't have a stange glass, but I did have a Running Walker glass, so I used that!

It has been on the rise for the last ten years or so. Mainly in trendy or "westernised" zones like Kichijoji. It can also be occasionally found "canned" in convenience stores, off licenses, or supermarkets. Brands like Kirin and Sapporo are making some efforts to compete by releasing limited edition "IPA" runs and the like.

Nope. The glass was full when the incident occurred. I had to drink down the glass for recovery purposes.
