Re: Favorite Actor of All Time
Well, that certainly changes the game. I guess it's my age: I assume, by the use of the word "actor" that males only were intended. I'm afraid that my valuation of actresses is strongly coloured by my attraction to them, and not necessarily their thespic abilities, but then again, I'm probably not alone in that regard. YMMV, etc.
Re: Favorite Actor of All Time
Favorite actresses? Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren and Kathy Bates.

Yeah, I'm pretty piggish in that regard, too. Trying to put a filter on it a little bit, my list...ThirstyStirge wrote:I'm afraid that my valuation of actresses is strongly coloured by my attraction to them, and not necessarily their thespic abilities, but then again, I'm probably not alone in that regard.

Re: Favorite Actor of All Time
Ooh, good call on Barbara Stanwyck. Put her on my list in place of Maria Casares. I wanted to include Nicole Kidman, but couldn't bring myself to because she's made way too many mediocre-to-bad movies. But when she's at the top of her game - like in Dead Calm, To Die For, The Portrait of a Lady, Eyes Wide Shut, Moulin Rouge!, The Others, The Hours, Birth, Rabbit Hole, and Stoker - she fully deserves it.

I'm a big fan of Errol Flynn. The two of them starred together in eight different films. The six of those I've seen are all good, esp. Captain Blood and Adventures of Robin Hood:Welleran wrote:Just realized that today is Olivia de Havilland's 100th birthday!

Re: Favorite Actor of All Time
I always thought those films were awesome but she was just ok (hot, yes). But then I saw her in The Snake Pit and realized was a tremendous talent she had. Her and her sister, Joan Fontaine.
Re: Favorite Actor of All Time
Jeff Bridges should be added just because of His Dudeness.
Jody Foster has always been a favorite actress of mine too.
Far too many actors & actresses to mention, but these two hadn't been mentioned in any posts yet, so I thought I'd lump in.
