Friday...

Gizmo (standing) referees Circvs Maximvs

Image

Morgan Hazel (what's his forum name at the AS&SH forum?) running AS&SH, with Handy, plus Kevin, James, and Emily from the Brooklyn crew:
Image

Image

I think this is from that same game — that looks like Handy's or Kevin's hat maybe?
Image

Ancalagon's game (don't know the players)
Image

Cloak & Dagger (blue shirt) running a game. I only recognize Manny (right side, from the Brooklyn crew) among the players
Image

Image

Only posted because of the Isle of the Ape wall hanging. I don't know the players
Image

Welleran (red shirt, behind DM screen, duh) trying to kill more PCs. Players include Don (to Welleran's left) and Brian (left side, wearing dark hoodie) from Welleran's crew, and Alex (son of Noah from the Florida crew, to Brian's right), Mike (to Welleran's right)
Image

Image

Blurry picture of the player maps
Image

Chainsaw's Hyperborea game on Friday afternoon. L-to-R: Dan (from Ghul's group), Eric, Josh, Paul, ? (from Ghul's group), Chainsaw
Image

Image

Mah Kelt Fighter haz Lazr Pistl. Bak off.
Image

Ligedog's Hyperborea game at the same time (there was a crap-ton of AS&SH this year, can you tell?). L-to-R: Cloak & Dagger, Jeff, Ligedog, Manny
Image

Handy and Kevin and somebody else joining Eli's game
Image

Ancalagon there too now (to Eli's right)
Image

Referee smiles equals player pain
Image

Swords & Wizardry game run by Bill Webb. I played next to Don & Scott (from Welleran's group). Don's in the hat in the foreground.
Image

... now the back of Scott's head in the foreground
Image

The early version of Don's mapping from that game
Image

Later, complete version of Don's mapping

Saturday (partial)

L-to-R: Tacojohn, Handy Haversack, James, Manny. More Hyperborea, obviously, but I don't know who was running. "Champions of Hyperborea," heh.
Image

Ghul running Hyperborea. Like I said — a crap ton of AS&S games this year! One or two of the Brooklyn crew (I think) to Ghul's right
Image

Image

Chainsaw running more Hyperborea. Seriously guys, will you stop? (Don't stop.) From Chainsaw (standing) clockwise: Ernesto, ?, Scott, Brian, Welleran, Dex, Emily.
Image

Image

Traveller. Eli (face-can) & James (left side) among the players. (Side note. I gave up trying to spell liegedog, because I can't seem to spell it right. Ever. Plus "Eli" is way shorter. Fuck, I wasted so many letters to clear that up.)
Image

gizmomathboy (right, with enough beard for both of them):
Image

Grodog's Saturday Castle Greyhawk game, with Josh (back-left), Don (right side, gray sweatshirt), Carlos (next furthest), Axiom (bottom right), CJ (?) (bottom left) Tie-dye is Grodog's, obviously.
Image

Axiom gives peace sign, CJ (?) in front of the window
Image

My Paladin from Grodog's game
Image

Cloak & Dagger's (facing camera) S&W game. Clockwise from him: Ancalagon (leaning over), Del Teigeler's son, Del Teigeler (artist for AS&SH among other stuff), my empty chair, ?, ?, Morgan.
Image

Del's son after C&D gave him a copy of White Box:FMAG
Image

Image

Dinner in the bar. L-to-R: Grodog, deogolfenchanter, Zenopus Archives, Me. (Thanks gizmo, for taking that shot!)

Welcome to the board, Don! :D

Donovan, Guy, Keith: do you guys mind if I cherry pick your photos from my games and repost them (properly credited of course) to FB? I took no photos at all after the booth setup on Wednesday :|

Don — it was great playing with you! I enjoyed hanging with you and Scott in our cheap seats for the S&W game, and playing with you in Allan's game.

Allan — feel free to repost any of mine! (Same goes for the rest of y'all!)

Looks like it was great con!

I wish I could have been there, but too many logistical hurdles. Maybe in 7 or 8 years when a few af my kids are out of the house!

I remember saying that to you, Jon, back in 2010 when you were "co-DMing" for Dennis Sustare at NTRPG Con.

True story, sadly!!! I did the same thing at NTX 1, in a Frank Mentzer game on opening night!!

I've always had trouble staying up late, even as a kid. But it seems to only have gotten worse over the years.

Donovan, what carousing table did you use at the Saturday Foolsgrave session? IIRC it was based on a Jeff Rients table, but enhanced by you, or maybe Kevin?

I used http://jrients.blogspot.com/2008/12/par ... 9.html?m=1 as presented. Next time I may tweak it a bit though.

Had a great time at Gary Con! I put the photo I took up (mostly of games I played in/exhibits) in a public FB album: Gary Con IX Annotated Slideshow
The slideshow should be viewable even if you don't have a FB account. Follow the link and click on the first photo (of the Zenopus Archives badge) to start viewing the photos.

My schedule was so packed I didn't have much time to look for people and the ZA badge I wore was woefully small for recognition unless I was already talking to someone. But Sat afternoon I was able to hunt Allan (who I met last year at NTRPG Con) down at the end of his Greyhawk game. He introduced me to Guy, Gizmomathboy and Deogolf, and I was able to have dinner with them in the bar area, although I had to leave early for a 7 PM game.

That's Scott. He ran four or five games, inc one of the AD&D Open sessions & Gamma 1E. He's been running our local AD&D game for the past 6 years. He puts much effort into prepping his con games; play in one next year if you get a chance!

I played Chainmail (Orc's Drift) with Josh Saturday morning. My evening Chainmail game ended around midnight, the forces of Law defeated badly, so I hung out by this game until it ended. I was able to meet Chainsaw briefly afterwards. It was ~1AM and he had run something like 7 games at that point so not sure if he remembers.

Scott and I plan to return next year, and I will run a game!
