Luke said that the GP/SP prices are all still in flux, so expect revisions by the time registration goes live. He also said that the BC events might even go up to 1 GP, but I hope not, since that would preclude folks who played a game with a TSR luminary from registering for my events.grodog wrote:I emailed them to see what's up.Welleran wrote:Allan, I noticed that your Bottle City event is 5 SP to register...it's the only non-VIP event above 3 SP, at least as of earlier today. Not sure why!

I'll bring the boombox, but someone else needs to bring a big sheet of cardboard. We're not doing the Breakdance contest on the sandtable this year. I'm still emptying sand from my Adidas.

Re: Garycon 6
That would suck for most but actually works for me as there are no VIP events I really feel the need to do and could use the SP for other events.grodog wrote: He also said that the BC events might even go up to 1 GP, but I hope not, since that would preclude folks who played a game with a TSR luminary from registering for my events.
Re: Garycon 6
The person running the events should be able to set the prices. If the con is paying someone's way, or something, then sure - it can set the price on a popular game high so as to encourage people to buy the premium registrations. But if a game is being submitted by a normal guy who is using his own cash to get up to the convention, and the convention leverages his game to entice people to buy premium badges (with more available "currency" to register for games) then that isn't right.grodog wrote: Luke said that the GP/SP prices are all still in flux, so expect revisions by the time registration goes live. Re: Garycon 6
I asked Luke to keep my events prices in SP, and he said that would be do-able
Unrelatedly, we should try to all go out to dinner one night, too: we did that a few years ago at Popeye's downtown in Lake Geneva (the hotel ferried us back and forth in their big van), and we had a great time. I've also eaten at the Next Door Pub a few times, and their pizza is excellent.
I'd be open to eating elsewhere too, of course
(Breakfast at Daddy Maxwell's in nearby William's Bay is also quite good, if anyone wants to get up early one day!).

I always have dinner at Medusa's one night downtown (it's a bit pricey, but the food is awesome). I also try to hit the Next Door Pub and Egg Harbor for breakfast at least once each, as well.grodog wrote:we should try to all go out to dinner one night, too
Re: Garycon 6
Just submitted for my son:
You have successfully submitted the following event for Gary Con 2014:
Event Title: D&D for Kids, by Kids
Event ID: 210428
DM Name: Richie Franks
Game Type: Role-Playing Game
Game System: Basic D&D (Red Box)
Day: Friday
Start Time: 10:00am
Duration: 4 hours
Experience: Beginner
Maximum Players: 6
Description: This game will feature a 14 year old DM running a classic TSR module for other kids, ages 10-16. Pre-generated characters will be provided, with an expected character level in the 2-4 range. A few notes: This is NOT a parent/child event, it is FOR KIDS ONLY, though parents are welcome to sit nearby and observe. This is not going to be a watered down, "fight the scary monster under the bed with pillows and love" sort of adventure, either. This will be full-on D&D. Therefore, character death is certainly a possibility (perhaps likely?), so please take maturity level into account when signing up for your child.

Officially commited to at least 2 and likely 3 Circus Maximus prelims.
I think the only conflict with something that I thought of attending is grodog's Aliens event.
Got earn my con cred some how.

I can run pickup games pretty easily too, if we have sufficient interest.gizmomathboy wrote:I think the only conflict with something that I thought of attending is grodog's Aliens event.

Nice try! For that, you get the one-two-three punch of jagermeister followed immediately by goldschlager and then tequila.Ghul wrote:You left me off the list, too.Chainsaw wrote:Cool! Sorry that I left you off the list. Corrected. I'll buy you a beer.

Might as well chase it with some 4 Loko while we're at it.Chainsaw wrote:Nice try!
