Giant Magical Items

Post by Wheggi »

In the G series of modules there are a number of large magical items that are property of the giants. Do you allow these to be used by PCs? I would usually say no, but I noticed that in G3
the smithy will attempt to destroy the +4 mace instead of allowing the players to get their hands on it
, implying that it is something the party can use.

Giant weapons are useful if the PCs are enlarged or growthed, too.

In the case of the G3 mace +4, I'd always assumed that the fire giant smith was creating it for a drow wielder, given the special black metal that it's forged from.

It depends on the size. If its not mentioned (or pictured) I'd assume yes for weapons that are usually one handed, no for weapons that are two handed. Giant weapons would require massive strength to lift and two hands to wield.

Nope. In my game PCs can't use giant-sized items, unless they (the PCs) have been enlarged to appropriate size. Because if you do, you are into this territory.....

...or even worse proportions....and that's not my thing at all.
