Does a person charging on horseback add strength bonuses to damage (lets say a heavy lance)?
I'd think not since your simply bracing (though I would give the to hit bonus). Not sure about other weapons (since you might thrust some of those, along with taking advantage of the momentum of the horse).
Do you get strength bonuses when charging?

Re: Do you get strength bonuses when charging?
As Don says, yes there is no reason to suppose not. For what it is worth, the strength of the individual riding the horse matters a good deal for the dealing of a good blow with a couched lance.

Another yes here.
Prespos
Ps.
I think the Masters set of D&D, or maybe the Companion, disallows STR bonuses when using a lance.
For AD&D, I'd just allow STR bonuses across the board for any melee weapon, to keep things simple.
Ps2.
