I prefer a simple stat block.
Also, Miss P.J., Suffolk has submitted a vivacious article entitled "Hereditary cause of mutation in Goblins."
I would like to again respectfully request that you submit your own articles to:

If we are expressing preferences, then generally, I like to see: M; AC; HD; A; D; AL. Also, THAC0 maybe, between attacks and damage. If it has really relevant special abilities, then SA blah, blah, and MR if applicable.

Re: Knights & Knaves Alehouse Magazine
Why not split it both ways? Have one adventure scenario specifically stated out for 1e/OSRIC with whole stat blocks and a different scenario that uses generic stats ala the One Page Dungeon Contest? That way you appeal to a wider old school demographic without sacrificing the 1e/OSRIC focus of the board.

Just to be clear Mudgaurd, what you are talking about is a publication that focuses exclusively on early 1E? I honestly don't know what your likes and dislikes are, and I don't care, just as long as you understand the small sliver of the pie we make up and that I think we'd find acceptable). Who is going to be responsible for what articles get published (ie. what is early 1E style enough?) I'd feel comfortable with someone like W, Grodog, TRP, Foster, Dungeon Delver, James, etc. etc.
EDIT: I think any of the games that Jerry would deem OK should be covered in a K&KA Mag, I'm just not wanting to see stuff posing as 1E that smells more like 2E working its way in.
So other stuff: Chain mail, 0E (three books), Boot Hill, all the old board games, Top Secret, CoC, CN, Traveller, other BRP System games, Tunnels and Trolls,
Holmes Basic D&D. I'm sure I'm missing others.
With that said, I'd prefer it to be mostly about 1E AD&D because thats the primary focus of this website, and we all pretty much play it. Do you share that vision?

Re: Knights & Knaves Alehouse Magazine
I don't think it's worth getting hung up on stat blocks. I'd really prefer you submitted your material, the way you want to, and that detail can be sorted out later.
Earlier in the thread, P&P spelled out what games the magazine should support:

Yep, good eh? I've received nothing so far. I'll give it a month, before losing interest. Deadline for submissions is May 12th.Falconer wrote:Is this a joke?Mudguard wrote:Also, Miss P.J., Suffolk has submitted a vivacious article entitled "Hereditary cause of mutation in Goblins."

Re: Knights & Knaves Alehouse Magazine
I have floated this idea. I've had some of you say you might have material, which is fantastic, but I haven't seen anything. I've suggested a deadline, and it can be flexible. But, yeah, I will lose interest if nothing happens.
If you want to get prickly about it, ok.

Gentlemen, gentlemen. You're both really good guys. So, leave the snark and grouchiness to the experts.

A gracious comment. I'll gladly shake hands with Ghul, and apologise for abrasive behaviour.

No worries. Perhaps I mistook the "losing interest" remark as a sign of apathy.Mudguard wrote:A gracious comment. I'll gladly shake hands with Ghul, and apologise for abrasive behaviour.

Thanks for setting a date Mudguard. Here's my progress (very very little!). I'm done some pen & paper design but I'll post it when it becomes relevant.

I'm putting this on hold for a week or two until I get a green light from work that it's OK to work on this. (100% sure it's fine but want sign-off first.)

Cool, Dallas. I've been over to check out the progress. It's a bit over my head, but I'm sure it'll make a great little article.
