This sounds like a criticism of Gail (??).
Note that I never said you couldn't criticize Gail's plans, I just think it needs to be done respectfully. I do think everybody's at fault in some aspects regarding the infighting, though that's more or less a squabble between the rather complex family relationships that occur when people divorce and remarry. There are things Gail is doing I wouldn't have done. I just think that we need to treat Gail with the same respect we showed Gary, even if we don't like the direction. I personally just want the anger and angst to go away.

Didn’t you always used to lecture me on how “There is no ‘they’”?
You are correct, I misspoke there.

Wait a minute. Gail herself claimed that she wanted Jeff on the project. Here is the quote:
thanks Jeff for working with Gary. I was so sorry you were too busy to work on the Castle Project after he passed. I was so looking forward to working with you. Let's remember Gary today!
So......which one of you is incorrect?
It's a little murkier than that. Jeff was no longer going to be the chief writer on the project, but Gail offered him a position as some sort of manager or consultant, which he turned down, perhaps because he disapproved of the new creative direction. So, technically, both statements correct.
The thing to remember about Gary Gygax is he was more inclusive rather than exclusive. He did not call people who liked newer versions of D&D "3tards" or "4ons" or whatever. He may have been critical of things that came later, but he stopped short of making fun of the people who liked that stuff--it's a subtle difference but it is a difference. People should never confuse the OSR or Old School D&D with Gary's personal preferences. People who do are turning EGG into some quasi-pseudo "gamer Jesus", and I think that's wrong.

Sorry I am not in the loop at all, has there been plans of (imminent?) release of Castle Gygax. Thanks for any replies, or pointers.

IN my opinion: WITH all due respect: the above is the exact reason people roll their eyes at the first peep from you, bro. This “stop being mean to Gail” bullshit was old in 2009. She’s a businesswoman whose poor business decisions are completely open to criticism. Now she’s openly creating internet drama. Then you go around accusing everyone of calling her out on it, even though they’re not. And so round and round in circles it goes. Perhaps you’re really TRYING to incite “angst and anger” towards her, while feigning to take her part? I really don’t get it.

See, this attempt at advocacy is a Total Failure.

Nothing has been announced, Machpants, since it was canceled in 2008.

To be fair, I did not want to discuss CZ at all. You both forked this thread to the subject, and brought up the subject of Gail directly to me, so I answered. My only statement was I think all the infighting between human beings was worse than a project remaining unpublished, that's all. I was interested in discussing Dwimmermount. So I'll move off the subject and this thread.

It's not any attempt at advocacy, basically Jeff sees the situation as him being fired, Gail sees it as him quitting. I used the former term in response to the possibility he'd be the one to finish things as a writer.

Thanks to my good fellows here at K&KA for expressing confidence in my ability to complete CZ. It's been 5 years now, and life has gone on. I truly appreciate your kindness, but the past is the past, and nothing has changed on that front; nor do I expect it to.
