I'd say Yes: new monsters, spells, and magic items are BTB. Thoughts?
In most cases, sure. What crosses the line into “not BtB” is when people tell you to ignore the books and instead implement their house rule, or meander off into how 2e or 3e did it. If you can avoid that, here, then pretty much anything else goes, IMO.

Indeed, I am of the same mind.

I love the Gold Box and Unlimited Adventures games, but even those are technically *not* BtB, even though they are based on the 1E ruleset. However, I think they were close to BtB, though, closer than a lot of AD&D campaigns out there, perhaps.

Matter of fact, I'd love to see the Gold Box / UA re-done BtB one day. Things like training rules, DMG -HP rules, and item saving throws might be less troublesome in a computer game.

Getting back to Tiamat, she can be found in the module H4 Throne of Bloodstone, if anyone is interested in fighting her.

I generally don't. Brass is the only metallic that shows up on my encounter & lair generation tables. I'm not too excited by the idea of dragons not being evil, but I do dice to see if chromatics are neutrally aligned.

I make a lot of metallic dragons (and chromatic dragons, for that matter) neutral. And even those that are good-aligned still tend to be vain and greedy and lazy and capricious, just like other dragons, so they're still likely to resent people invading their lairs and very unlikely to team up with the PCs. But these are generally encounters more likely to be resolved through RP than combat. And if they manage to make friends with a silver or gold dragon that could be useful long-term - it won't join your adventuring party, but if you need its help later on you can go find it again and offer it a gift and maybe it'll be flattered enough to do you a favor...
