The grandfather list of all surprises listed in the 1E rules
The grandfather list of all surprises listed in the 1E rules
Anyone care to take a stab at this (or have we made a list with the corresponding surprises?) There's normal surprise (2-6) a thief (MS and not, but attempting), elves, halflings, silence spell, boots of elven kind, ring of invisibility, etc. Then there are certain monsters from the MM that have improved surprise chances (like bugbears). If you care to take a stab please do.

I thought from the subject title you had found some hidden rule everyone had overlooked!
