I dowloaded this item form the download section. Now, how the hell to ya get it to work?

When I run it, I just get a Credits window come up.

The read me file states this...

Remember to move Autoexec.nt and Config.nt
into the SAME folder as the EXE program file.
Set your shortcut settings as follows:
In the Program Section, click Advanced.
This opens Windows PIF Settings.
Make sure the Autoexec.nt Filename & Config.nt Filename
INCLUDING correct folder names are included
(i.e. c:\program files\DMA#\autoexec.nt)

Problem is, there are onlt DAT files, the read me file and the start application. The auto.exec.nt and Config.nt are not to be found. This may not be an issue though as I am using Windows 7.

I tried extracting, but it just made a duplicate folder, exactly the same as what I was extracting. As for the Program Section... where would I find that?

Do you have a DOS emulator? I use DOS Box and it works fine with my (accursed) Vista machine.

DOSBox is the way to go for this one.

I can't tell you how to print with it, but that'd be my suggestion.

(I also plan on offering the DMA 1 & 2's on my website...but more on that later...)

Update, all I had to do was hit the enter button while on the credits window. Duh. I was trying to click on the screen with my mouse of course.

So yes, it works on Windows 7 without extracting anything or Dos Box.

edit: I'm not sure, but I think my PC/Windows 7, might automatically change compatibility itself. When I was trying to get it to run, I set to run with Windows 95, but when I went back it had switched to Windows 2000. ???

COOL! I have been playing around with both DMAs. I like!

What does Extra Line Feed mean? You can set it to on or off.

It pertains to old old old old printers that were directly addressed when they were connected to the LPT: port. It means nothing now.

By the way, you know you can open the .CHR files and copy and paste stuff out of them into wordpad/word/notepad/etc., right? 'cause you can. Do not manually edit them anywhere but in the Dungeon Masters Assistant. You will corrupt (as far as DMA is concerned) the file and then you'll only be able to edit/view it via the noted methods.
