Fun trivia. As an addendum, at least a couple non-TSR products are also mentioned: White Dwarf magazine, Grenadier's AD&D miniatures, and a general (not product-specific) mention of Judges Guild's products. Are there any others?

U&WA and GH get specific call outs in the Traps and Tricks appendix.

RPG.net article on Dungeon Floor Plans. There are some for sale on eBay and Noble Knight, though they are the later editions without the D&D logo.
Geekdo page for Dungeon Floor Plans (later edition). Let us know if you find any more info.

They're basically gridded tiles for moving minis around on, although in general they were set up to be cut up, and then taped together or somesuch. A number of companies published them BITD: GW, Heritage, KABAL, Standard Games, and others I'm sure that I'm forgetting. GW's box scenarios were
Caverns of the Dead,
Nightmare in Blackmarsh, and others (5 total IIRC??).

I actually had a later edition of the GW Dungeon Floor Plans set BITD and used them briefly in my late-80s WFRP games -- I used them to set up the dungeon-y locations in Shadows Over Bogenhafen before deciding they were more trouble than they were worth. As I recall there were several gridded (1" square) cardstock sheets illustrated with various surfaces (flagstones, dirt, water, etc.) that you were supposed to cut up to represent rooms and passages, plus a couple sheets of common features -- doors, chests, fireplaces, altars, etc.

Question is: are these products compatible with each other? Can I use Dungeon Floor Plans with other Dungeon Floor Plans for bigger dungeons? DFP with Caverns of the Dead et al.?

Sounds like the Dungeon Tiles of WotC. How do they compare?

It's alright, man. Wasn't going for a "gotcha" or anything.

The specific Dragon articles mentioned (that I found) are:
Forms of Government by G. Gygax, #25, pg 88
A reference to the Starship Warden/D&D crossover, without actual citation to the volume, pg. 113
"Demonology Made Easy" by Gregory Rihn, #20, pg. 195
I'd love to know if there are any I missed.

FYI, that's "Faceless Men and Clockwork Monsters" in TD#17. Similarly, EX1, EX2, and WG6 are alluded to on page 112 (though not named specifically, since they hadn't been published yet).
