I'm surprised I haven't seen this mentioned on here before. Usually I'm last to know anything in the industry.

Huh. I thought it had been mentioned here before.

There's been at least two other threads. I've ordered the set!

Weird, I thought WotC was explicitly distributing those through "hobby stores."

That was definitely the original intent as far as I can tell, but I am now hearing/reading that there will be additional sources (and perhaps even international availability) which makes me wonder if the response hasn't been so enthusiastic that WotC is expanding the push.

Paizo uses the same game distributors to get gaming products that brick-and-mortar game stores use.

That would explain it. Comes down to distributors more than WotC's intentions, maybe.

Still on the fence, though--I will want to see these in person before I decide to buy. Especially when I can still (fairly) easily get a hold of used copies for cheap ;)

You know what you can't get used copies of cheaply? Some modules (I don't consider $20-$25 for a copy of Isle of the Ape cheap...). And it's not getting any better. What to do?

Reward (buy the books) good behavior on WotC's part (printing the books), encourage them to do more. And more and more and more. More books, modules, etc.

A return of 1E at major book stores, and new masses of players is in our grasp boys. A long shot...near impossible? Sure. BUT Stranger things have happened. Not many...but if you look hard enough you can find such things. Anyhow, be proactive. Ultimately though, this is something that will have to cetch fire on its own. New people in droves will have to discover it (perhaps those who have already given OSRIC a shot might make such a move. No one knows how many might have done so (just that its been downloaded x number of times. Anyone have the figures on how many times OSRIC has been downloaded via our website for instance?).

Our short term goal should be to get these to sell out and convince WOTC to put these books in prominant places in ordinary book stores (like B&N).

Yeah, this has gone international too. I bought mine through an online store called Milsims based in Melbourne.

Well it's nice to know my record remains perfect. I've ordered a new set of books as I thought WOTC would never reprint them. I just hope they sell well.

The Khalifah Elric?

Moonglum the Moor?

Elric gets to place both Cymoril and Zarozinia into his ḥarīm?

I was thinking of the aptness of Melniboné's "elegant spires and graceful minarets".
